the obvious choice. star trek
The first character I fell in love with: I think it was Neelix, but in my defense, I came into Voyager in the middle of the series where Neelix is just a goofball and not annoyingly possessive. Keep in mind I was like 9 when my family started watching Voyager, and I usually attributed Star Trek to “a lot of boring talking,” so I gravitated to the silly character.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Before watching TNG, I thought Worf was just some big abrasive brute. Now I know better.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: I’m not a very big fan of Q. Maybe I haven’t seen him enough in TNG yet, mostly Voyager where’s he’s just a big jerk. I did like the Voyager episode with the Q that wanted to die, though.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Tom Paris, but again, only after the first few seasons where hitting on women was his only character trait. The 37′s episode where he identifies the car they find drifting in space down to model and year and says he has an interest in the 20th century, that’s when I start to like him.
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: That’s a pretty tough one, I still love all of the Voyager characters as much as I always did, and the other shows are still kinda new to me. So none right now.
The character I would totally smooch: I’d like to change that to hug, and that would be Harry Kim, Seven, Janeway, Spock, Picard, and Data.
The character I’d want to be like: Janeway, the best captain.
The character I’d slap: Neelix every time he says he knows what’s best for Kes, or something similar.
A pairing I love: Doctor/Seven
A pairing I despise: Chakotay/Seven
