I hate how any show related sab discourse is so overshadowed by darklina vs malina bs that nobody seems to care just how much the show writers hated Alina. They literally erased everything that made her who she was and as if that wasn't enough they took away even Mal's love from her.
Show!Mal dumps her ass right after she uses merzost to bring him back just because he wasn't “feeling it anymore” implying the whole reason they were together was because of the amplifier when one of the major points of their relationship is that unlike darklina where they're tethered due to their uniqueness, malina never had anything supernatural going on that bound them together! They were two very ordinary people who chose eachother and their ordinary lives and stuck together in spite of it all. Can't believe I'm here talking like a malina shipper but seriously the show is so fucking bad that it has made me stan leigh bardugo. I have never once been a Malina fan but I understand what she was trying to do however, I can't say the same for the show. The only logical explanation I can come up with for their writing choices is that they hated Alina. Which is why she's constantly undermined to either make space for characters that had no business being there or morally elevate Mal so her very unpopular ending could be justified in season 3, had they gotten the opportunity. So fucking glad they didn't. Call it alinakarma idk 🥰
