For me, it's the people at the toll booth stalls. So when it's my turn at the queue, I give them a genuine smile, hoping that that little act of kindness might be enough.
Type 2 through and through.
Both a coward and a hero gets scared. The difference is one quits while the other continues.

Recently, I have been spending a lot of time looking through this site and saving the secrets that made me smile or laugh or cry or think.
This, by far, is my favorite. For some reason, this resonated into the deepest recesses of my soul. Maybe because I sometimes forget to be kind. I am guilty of judging someone based on his appearance. Sometimes, I can't get past this shallow criterion and I intentionally disregard this person. I intentionally ignore him.
I fail to see this person for who he is - a human being who is trying to figure out his place in this world, trying to remember who he is, trying to survive -- just like me and you.
I am thankful that every time I think about this simple truth, I am reminded that kindness starts by looking past biases and prejudices. And once past these things, I am hopeful that I will see the value of every person that I meet.
