My bags are... somewhat packed and ready for tomorrow. This trip... might actually have been my favorite. Thank you South Bend for your kindness. Most of all, thank you Moonlight for everything. #posttraveldepression #southbendindiana #travel (at South Bend, Indiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCM9BLiF94p/?igshid=1fsxkrn9dx4r1
. Inspired by @laurafruitfairy and @ju.liciously I thoughr I'd share a "cv style" post today, might be interesting, especially for people who just started following (hello👋).📝 I include names of towns just for fun in case some Germans know them.🤷♀️ Personally I just find it so interesting to read about other people's life paths, how they ended up where they are today.👣 So feel free to share your story.🌿 . 1. October 88 I was born in Thuringia, East Germany. I was born in the East but grew up in the West (in a small town called Gaildorf) and have never been to Thuringia ever since being a baby (so wanna go!). . 2. I went to Realschule (secondary school) but since I'd always been a good student I decided to go to Gymnasium (high school) to get my Abitur (a levels). After finishing school in 2008 I had no idea what to do and so had sort of an unplanned gap year in which I basically just enjoyed my life, wrote applications and jobbed at Subway.🥪 . 3. 2009 I started a 2 year apprenticeship at an online furniture company in Welzheim where I stayed to work fulltime for another year before quitting to study health promotion in Schwäbisch Gmünd. I still worked for that company on my laptop while studying to make some money. Tbh, I would've liked to study farther away but didn't want to move to far from my boyfriend I had at that time. . 4. 2014 I studied one semester in Kristianstad (Sweden) and I believe that really started my urge to travel.🇸🇪 When I came back I felt like a different person and first had trouble to fully settle in Germany again. #posttraveldepression After coming home from Sweden I also finally moved out of my parents' at the late age of 26. I moved into a shared flat in Schwäbisch Gmünd, before that I always had to commute between 3 towns.🚗 . 5. After getting my bachelor degree I felt lost once again and decided to get a job, any job, save up money and leave Germany for a while and that's what I did. I got a job at another online trading company in Waiblingen, quit 2018 after 2 years, moved out of the shared flat and back in with my parents in Gaildorf for a couple of months. Post-Travel Depression
THIS IS A REAL THING. Just because you haven’t experienced it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist to others. There’s so much to see out there in the world and for those who have seen parts understand so much more about themselves. They begin to learn what they like, what they don’t like. They find themselves in the smallest towns in countries they wouldn’t have even thought to visit. They find themselves in the eyes of people from all around the world. They find themselves in the smiles they shared with multiple cultures.
To be back is hard. Leaving a life full of adventure, excitement, and constant new knowledge flowing is hard. It is like losing a loved one. They will never be in those countries with those people at that time ever again and that is a hard thing to understand. NEVER.
