Omiyage (お土産) that sis brought home from her Osaka (大阪) trip to Japan. It included quite a few potato-based snacks like these potato sticks and cubes. The most popular snacks by far are these two - Jaga Pokkuru and Jaga Pirika. Both are made from 100% Hokkaido-grown potatoes and seasoned with salt from Okhotsk to create the unique flavour of Hokkaido. In addition, Jaga Pirika is made from Toyoshiro (White), Northern Ruby (Red) and Kita Murasaki (Purple) potato/sweet potato. The Jagabee Takoyaki Flavour potato sticks aren’t bad but just couldn’t compare to the other two I mentioned earlier in term of flavours and texture.
Dotonbori no Koibito made by Yabuya of Osaka City, is a confectionery parody of the Shiroi Koibito (白い恋人) or White Lover, a white chocolate sandwich cookie made popular by Ishiya Confectionery in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Texture wise, the cookies are light and crispy that melts in your mouth, perfect as a snack with your cup of coffee or tea.
