thinking about the parallel life heathers au and i've rewatched the original movie twice in the last few days so i wanted to yap about all of my reasonings in one post for my ideas for who would be who when i first brought it up to robin!!

ghost/jason dean - it honestly just MAKES SENSE i fear. ghost and his constant murder spree after he turned red??? jd and the immediate "oh yeah lets kill these guys" after the first death (chandler) in heathers??? same person right there. but what really sealed the deal on this was when ghost mentioned that if it was him and tibby in the end he was gonna blow himself up. sound familiar? yeah.

tibby/veronica sawyer - partner in crime!! whisps as the two main characters is fire duhh!! the main point i was gonna make here ended up getting put in e's section of this post instead oops but either way it just makes sense with ghost as jd :3 i can go into more depth on this sometime in the future... (i paused and came back to write tibby's bullet point last and yapped too much to where i forgot my points for this one. oops...)

charlie/martha dunnstock - in the musical, martha is veronica's best friend - this isn't so much represented in the movie, but i wanted to include it anyway. while tibby and charlie didnt talk much until the last two episodes, they were still soulbound. its kind of like how veronica rarely spoke to martha after being indoctrinated into the heathers' group.

e/heather chandler - ngl. im so biased on making e chandler. or at least i was when i started this... then it started actually making so much sense! someone correct me if im wrong, but i remember someone mentioning tibby wanting to be the one to take e out of the series in parallel life, which in this case it matches up pretty well, what with veronica and jd killing heather c via drain cleaning fluid. but also, e is just a bad bitch in general like??? they have that aura y'know?? (/pos) this also all started lining up pretty well once i started thinking about the other heathers which i'll explain in their sections instead

crow/heather mcnamara - DUDE!! CROW IS JUST MCNAMARA. LIKE PERIOD. okay but seriously like what with e taking in crow after ghost killed her the second time in ep 3, and crow basically becoming e's, for lack of better words, lackey (via lovebombing oh god the toxic yuri gulp) it just makes sense. and honestly?? lifeboat from the musical?? it REALLY gives off crow vibes in ep 3 when she's still trying to be with ghostfoam, and then again when ghost tells her she's part of the deal with e in ep 4. like?? "if i say the wrong thing or i wear the wrong outfit, they'll throw me right over the side" (lifeboat) honestly feels like it fits SO WELL with how ghost treated her like she was expendable?? like in ep 4 he says things along the lines of being able to kill crow at any moment SO MANY TIMES

mar/heather duke - i already went into a lot more detail on mar being duke in this ask, but my basis for it is from how ghost treated them the whole season. being neglected for someone else the whole time (chandler absolutely neglecting duke in the movie AND musical, even heavier in the movie) and then when given the chance trying to act like someone else to be above things and be liked. another thing i wanna add that i didnt say in the original ask about mar is when e basically took mar in for just a bit for the "broken hearts club" after picking up tibby and crow off the side of the road (post-whisp "breakup") which basically adds on to that heathers trio being a trio yknow??

pickle + emerald/kurt kelly + ram sweeney - lowkey?? originally i had no clue who to put as kurt/ram. but i also assigned this when i'd only watched ep 1 of pickle's pov, BUT i finally watched his pov last night! (its so good omfg) and honestly? kinda fits. like okay these guys got murdered when they werent even like doing anything via someone else's influence (lava trap influenced by the ghosts... ich lüge bullets... yeah!) i know pickle's final ep isnt out but yk using context clues from e's pov and all of that since e set the trap! obv most of the heathers narrative for kurt/ram doesnt work too well with anyone in parallel life but hey these guys had a whole bee birth scene in their house. close enough bro...

IM THINK IM YAPPING A BIT TOO MUCH OTHERWISE I'D BE MORE DESCRIPTIVE BUT UM SEND ME ASKS ABOUT THIS IM SO NORMAL ABOUT THIS AU… also if anything on here is wrong let me know!!

Hello critters!! This is my first time ever publicly posting any of my writings, please be, preferably, kind if you have any opinions or criticisms, which I am very much open to but I am NOT good with tone!

This is my technically “official” writing of my Parallel Life finale, its not my proudest writing but its of the last fight between me and @tibbycaps ! If you haven’t watched Parallel Life you totally should go watch his and everyone else’s perspective! I personally do not have videos uploaded because atm I am unable to record Parallel Life as well. Do what you will with this writing if you like to dabble in lore and what not, it is written in the perspective of my character, Callum.

Victory?

My fist swung and swung and my vision could hardly focus on anything besides what I assumed to still be Tibby in front of me, I was unaware if any of my hits were even landing at this point. Our fight seemed to last forever, and as the moments ticked by the more aches grew on my body; I felt blood dripping from my face, although I was unaware of the source. I could feel the life in my body growing weaker; then I swung my fist one last time. Thunder roared and everything felt like it was on pause as reality set in. My breathing was rapid, but I couldn’t hear it past the ringing in my ears and the loudness in my head; it was all-consuming but everything felt like nothing at the same time. It was over. I slumped onto my knees, the blood-covered blades of grass moving weakly under my weight, and I laughed. I laughed as I stared at the bloodied field, at my soulmate’s lifeless body, laughing as I remembered everything that led up to this point, how I lost my teammate, how I killed people, how amusing it all was. I looked back on everything and laughed. I didn’t regret anything. In fact, I found myself enjoying it all; I enjoyed the bloodshed and the pain I caused myself and others. I ignored the small turn in my gut in favour for looking at my surroundings; this is where it all started, right next to where all the players woke up and started this dastardly game is where I killed my soulmate, someone who I wanted to team with from the beginning, someone I had wanted to know but I never got the chance until it was too late, now his blood was on my hands. Why wasn’t I dead? If we were bound to each other by our lives, why couldn’t I have died with him? That didn’t matter now; it was pointless to look back on everything and question. I won, it was over. I could leave even if the admins of this game assumed I couldn’t, deeming me “trapped for eternity.” I couldn’t be trapped, but the vessel I used was another story. I could leave it behind, and so I exited the vessel I made. I watched as it collapsed to the ground. That vessel would never decay; it was never made of life, and so it would be eternally trapped, how unfortunate. It laid right next to my soulmate's corpse, I suppose they’ll be trapped together, forever in the blood-soaked flower field.

hi its cc ramble time yayayyy! anyway the differences and parallels (haha) between the two duels in parallel life are honestly so interesting to me (pickle vs. scott in ep 3 and withersun in ep 4)

mind you im mainly gonna talk about pickle's pov in this so go watch that

so they both have that level of intensity to them - a red name showing interest in wanting to kill a green/yellow, and then both parties settling on a fair fight. and again in both scenarios, it's a red risking their season just for that kill to satiate their bloodlust, without their soulmate's say in it at all - in fact, emerald even points out the fact that pickle didn't give him any say in that

now i will say a minor difference with pickle and scott's fight is that it wasn't downright "oh lets fight just axes and diamond gear" - which it probably couldve been if scott hadn't initiated combat first, since pickle's idea was like "oh i'll walk you home and then we fight!" but instead scott starts the fight in the middle of the forest during night

but i think the biggest difference between these two fights and their impacts is because of how the red in both situations were seen at the moment. ghostfoam was seen as an almost server-wide enemy, especially at the time of the duel because it's when even tibby and ghost are pretending to hate each other. meanwhile pickle is more of a server-wide friend. him and emerald wanted to be seen as the friendly reds so that they could backstab later and even before the fight he's talking to scott being like "well i'm not quite allies but im basically allies with the whisps... and charlie... and the polycule" BASICALLY naming off nearly the whole server to scott, explaining how scott can't really "help him get a kill on someone else" because he's friends with too many people.

the funny thing about this is besides having different impacts and stuff, it still follows the same basic building blocks or storyline - a red says they wanna kill a non-red (specifically in front of other people. in pickle's case, one yellows and two reds - luca, haunting, & emerald. in ghost's case, one yellow and one red - tibby & crow), the non-red agrees as long as it's an actual 1v1 battle. the red is victorious in both scenarios, and after the battle the other person comes back and the two talk about helping each other. now this is where it differs again, as scott begins asking pickle for help since all of the polycule wants ghost dead (i think scott uses specifically ezra and middy as examples?), whereas after the withersun fight it's less of requesting help and moreso ghost telling e that they have to stick to the deal that was made. (queerbait yaoi hooray!)

honestly this ramble was a little smaller than i wanted it to be, mainly because i took a nap in the middle of writing it and completely lost my train of thought... 😭 (i also didnt read over this after writing it so some might be a but messily explained sorryyyy)

and i know i could totally just be reaching with some of this comparing stuff but parallel life has taken over my brain i cant help it

i might add to this depending on what pickle's ep 4 looks like when it gets posted since it's not out, but for now this is what i have for you!! big fumbs bup 👍 (blame robin for that being put in my vocabulary)
