that’s what a ship needs. but what a ship is… what the Black Pearl really is… is f r e e d o m.

The final fight scene in Pirates 3 pushes Jack’s antics about as far as the balance between over the top cartoonish physics and epic action will allow. In the 4th and 5th movies, they try to top the antics but maintain only the comedic element, without the eye for the epic and so lose the balance entirely which is part of the reason why Jack’s character skews so much further into buffoonery in those movies.
I will always love how Will and Elizabeth are exactly the opposite of what you expect them to be. Will is more of the damsel and he was never a pirate, while Elizabeth was 100 %. I was bothered by the last movie though because Will was said to be a good captain of the Dutchman and doing his job so why would he get all this sea decorations?
At least he never wanted to be, while I always got the feeling from her that she was super into it ;)
Regarding the last film: don’t even try approaching it with logic. It also fucked majorly with Jack’s backstory; we get an entirely different story for how he got the compass, for example. PotC, for me, consists of 1-3. The only thing that interested me in the last one was Barbossa.
I have a jar of-......
A jar of ASAHI?Should I guess what’s inside it?
