1. Sannan, much like Souji and Saito, is NOT looking for romance at all. HOWEVER, were it to slip up and slap him upside the head...he wouldn’t be all that worried about gender.
2. Sannan needs somebody who can hold a conversation. He is attracted to INTELLIGENCE.
3. He’s probably not LOOKING for - but NEEDS - someone who will pull him out of his shell.
4. Hunger for what they believe in will go far with Sannan...will that person do ANYTHING to attain their goal? He would.... Just sayin’.
5. A person who is organized and goal-oriented, a task master even.
6. Sannan has no interest in beauty whatsoever. I think he might even consider it a negative....a distraction.
7. He wants someone who doesn’t need hand-holding all the time. Someone who can stand on their own.
Duh duh duuuuuuuuuh.....I’ve been WAITING to do this one FOREVER! >.> These are s all MY headcannons...so you might not agree with them, but there you go! :D YAMAZAKI!!!
1. Sexuality-- Yamazaki is one of those people I can’t really pinpoint down as being one way or another. I think, for him, it would really be more a matter of the person, not the gender, so I’m going with that.
2. Intelligent-- He’s pretty sharp and wants someone on the same playing field, you know?
3. He wants someone who doesn’t lie...Lying is a BIG thing for him. Now...if it comes down to someone doing their job (say...an Inspector or some such), that’s different. But just to lie for the sake of lying...Nope.
4. Honorable-- He’s a lot like Saito and Amagiri here. He can’t trust someone who has no honor.
5. Someone who makes mistakes and can own up to them...He doesn’t want a perfect person
6. While he doesn’t really consider himself shallow, he does prefer a woman with a more athletic build....Not because of the aesthetic but because it denotes health and caring about oneself in his eyes.
7. Adventurous-- He loves learning about and trying new things and wants someone who will do that with him.
8. He wants someone who can understand the importance of his work...Someone who is okay having to wait for him from time to time.
9. He NEEDS someone who can pull him out of his shell. He won’t be making the first move unless someone makes it impossible for him NOT to, you know?? He’s not looking for a mate, so someone really has to get his attention in order for him to develop a relationship.
10. He is definitely a one-person man.
11. He wants someone who is playful and carefree, but knows when to be serious.
Wow...this one was DIFFICULT. Mainly because I see him as...not really being interested AT ALL. But...I did what I could! :)
1. He needs his space and the person he’s with MUST remember that, first and foremost.
2. He is not particular about gender, or looks, or anything physical, really. That being said, I see him more easily with men just because I see men as ‘generally’ less touchy-feely?
3. He would need someone who could take his mood swings and not get overly offended by his snappiness.
4. Playful and energetic- but they need to make sure to read Souji...there are days when he will NOT want the playfulness.
5. He needs someone who doesn’t try to take care of him all the time...it will SUFFOCATE him.
6. He needs someone who doesn’t need taken care of...he won’t want to do it all the time, though he will when needed. :-/ I can’t explain this one the way I see it in my head...He doesn’t want a needy person? clingy? You get me?
I love Shinpachi! He’s a dork, but a smart one!! :D Also...due to the time period, I feel he might come off as a bit...chauvinistic? Just remember...this is MY view, so I’m sure there are very differing opinions out there. :P
1. Pretty...he’s shallow and he’ll admit it in a heartbeat. Now, this being said...he could fall for a non-pretty girl, but she would really have to do something to get his attention.
2. He likes WOMEN...curves, knowledge of how to please a man, not faint-hearted.
3. He likes a woman who makes him feel good...who boosts his confidence.
4. I’m torn on how intelligence plays into things...I think he’d like to have discussions on occasion, but then I kind feel like he’d think that’s what his guy friends are for...He wants his woman to be FEMININE and in that day and age...intelligence wasn’t really seen as feminine. K I do think he would not want to be outsmarted in front of his friends by his woman... I don’t know.
5. Playful...he would want someone who could take his teasing and who could give it right back.
6. Energetic and happy...no downers for Shinpat! :P
7. I think he would like a woman who could look out for herself...but not so much that he’s not needed.
I “think” Shimada was a married man....but I’m going with Hakuouki’s version so he’s up for grabs.... >.> And he’s freaking ADORABLE and deserves some loooooove, so here goes! :P
1. He wants a woman with a sweet disposition, but who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself.
2. He likes a woman with meat on her bones.
3. He wants someone who can laugh at themselves and not take life too seriously.
4. He wants a large family and would love a woman who wants the same thing.
5. He would love to have a woman who will cook with him, make sweets with him...just have fun in the kitchen.
6. He wants someone who is energetic and easy-going...kind of like a girl-next-door type.
7. Looks are not important....the heart is where true beauty lies for Shimada.

This one was VERY difficult for me and it’s based solely on headcanons:
1. Must be strong mentally. I can’t see him falling for a weak-willed woman.
2. Beauty isn’t NECESSARY, but he does enjoy a pretty face.
3. Cannot be too pushy; it’s a biiiiiiig turn off for him. That being said, he needs someone who will hold her ground.
4. Intelligent; he would like to be able to hold a conversation.

6. Someone who respects that he will not devote every waking minute to them...he has another “mistress”, if you will....
7. Someone who is able to see around his façade. I think this would really be a big thing for him...something he wasn’t looking for but when found, it means a GREAT deal.
8. For my headcanon, she must be a she...At least in Hakuouki-dom. :D ROFL!
Heisuke’s Potential Mate (I just couldn’t call him Todo....)
Now...This one was FUN for me, because Heisuke is fairly easy to please, bless his little cinnamon roll heart! <3
1. Female...I just see him as liking girls (not that I can’t get behind a well-written m/m pairing).
2. Cute...He loves a cute face...and a cute voice...and cute attitude....You get the gist, right? :P
3. She has to be shorter than him....He has an issue about that.
4. He likes kind, caring and sweet girls...the kind that blushes as much as he does. :>
5. He likes a girl with determination and hutzpah...some grit, you know?
6. He would LOVE a girl who can cook...It’s not a deal breaker if she can’t but BONUS points if she can.
7. He’s not going to turn down someone who doesn’t fit into the above list, because mainly he just listens to his heart. Sometimes, a girl might not fit his list and that’s okay.
