Blue Dragons
They hear it coming first.
Not that they would know how to recognize the sounds of immense wings flapping into the night sky.
They feel the wind next. See the trees leaning to one side, as if trying to escape from a terrible storm.
More sound, as weaker branches start to crack under the assault of the strong winds.
Then, they see it.
Or rather, they see many a star all at once being obscured by that huge mass speeding in the village direction.
It is far too late to flee when the glow of the torches finally catches golden scales.
The ground shake under their feet when the Golden Dragon lands at the village's walls.
The walls had always seemed so tall to Eggsy, even after he was no longer a child trying to climb over them to go explore the world, unheeding of his mother's cries that he would break his neck. He never did, but he also never managed to scale the stones all the way over to the top until he was much older and much more experimented.
Next to the looming Golden Dragon, they seem puny. Inconsequential.
For the first time in his life, Eggsy is paralyzed with horror, his eyes riveted to the massive beast about to destroy their lives.
For the first time in his life, as the Golden Dragon cocks its head in his direction, Eggsy understand true despair.
None of their plans matter now. They never did.
It was pure hubris to think they could ever stand against Valentine.
Only a miracle could save them now.
And he's never believed in those.
I saw this conversation in @writingwife-83's post about nicknames

and I agree that @love-yellow-door's idea is great 👍 This should be a thing! Let's make it a thing! Maybe we could have it as @sherlollyappreciationweek monthly prompt? We haven't had those in a while. Wouldn't it be cool? I'd love to see lots of versions of it from different authors, varying from G to E 😏 I'm sure each author would tackle it their own way, so it should be really interesting ;)
☤ - a memory of death/loss
Memory Meme
I could focus on mortal deaths anytime, however, what comes first to my mind is my own death, because eventually you realize that as much drunk you are of life, as much in passionate love you are with life…you cannot longer enjoy it as the mortal you used to be, eventually you want to go back home to your roots. to the place that saw you breathe and felt your heart beat, it’s then when the reality hits you truly and you realize the world kept going on without you, that now you’re an historical landmark if lucky, that the ones you didn’t know you’d miss are long gone.
There is nowhere to look, everyone who could understand you is dead, and you know you should be dead with them, rotting, bones already turned into dust…yet there you are, standing, living.
I had the fondest memories of the girls I left at my casa when I left them that night to meet Marius, by the time I returned even my casa was long gone. I had to accept Bianca died, and the creature that revived on her flesh was something else.
oh this is a very important thing i said last night (originally stemmed from a joke-y comment made but i took th chance 2 say smth overall)

my mom got pissed off at me bc I scheduled tutoring for friday which is her day off and she says she has stuff to do and I understand that but I’m sorry that I don’t understand math and need help??? sorry it's the only day the tutor can do it????
like she’s always saying if you need help let us know and well I let you know but you’re going to get upset because you need to drop me off there??? fuck that
you can very well drop me off at tutoring in the midst of doing errands and if not here’s the thing: maybe my dad can take me like gasp woah there’s 2 trucks at the house not just yours calm the fuck down and don’t get upset bc I can’t math or drive
now I’m fucking mad and I was having a decent day fuck everything
and not only that every answer I get from her now is bitchy and full of attitude and she claims that I'm the one with attitude here but guess what it's both of us but now let the record show that it took only 3 mins into a car ride for me to upset her and her to upset me
3. Gay people are different from straight people. I know, another newsflash. But really, we've been so focused in recent years on how we're all the same -- we want many of the same things in life, including a job, a home, a relationship -- that we've obscured some real differences in how we've constructed our community and our relationships. Historically, gay men have engaged in intergenerational sexual encounters, brief romances and long-term relationships -- among consenting adults -- probably much more than straight people have. One reason is simply that, historically, we've had to find each other and teach each other about ourselves, coming together in a larger world that doesn't teach us our history, our culture or simply how to be gay, how to protect ourselves, how to have families -- even how to have sex. And often, but certainly not always, that's been about older people teaching younger people -- again, consenting adults. Yes, there are older (and younger) gay men who are selfish and narcissistic and exploit people who are young and naïve, just like a lot of older (and younger) straight men. But that's often a gross generalization that doesn't account for the great many nurturing intergenerational bonds. One thing that's different about gay men -- and lesbians, for that matter -- is that we often become very close friends, sometimes lifelong friends, with our former lovers, partners, boyfriends, girlfriends and flings. I think every gay man I know has had a good friend whom he slept with at least once. Many of my lesbian friends have ex-girlfriends (sometimes a lot older) who are their best friends even as they're deeply involved in new relationships.
