Thorne Peters, 'The Kingpin' who waged war against pot laws, dies in Shelby County prison Thorne Peters, who openly used and sold marijuana, dared the authorities to arrest him, and waged eccentric and defiant protests against drug laws through his books, internet broadcasts, court appearances and legal filings, has died in prison. Peters was found unresponsive in his cell by corrections staff at 7:10 a.m. on Sunday at the Shelby County Division of Correction, county spokeswoman Lauren Lee wrote in an email. The prison is near Shelby Farms in East Memphis. Peters was housed in an individual cell without any cellmates, the county said in a news release. He was classified as a minimum security prisoner. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, and the medical examiner has taken possession of the body, the news release said. An incident report from the Sheriff's Office lists the matter as a "DOA - Unknown," and offers few other details. DOA stands for "dead on arrival." #thornepeters #thekingpin #potlaws #died #shelby #died #doa #memphis #report #holysmokestv #holysmokes #holysmokescrafts #oneman #solo #cannabis #reform #legalization #safeaccess #news #ismokecannabis #medicalcannabis #thc #cbd #breal #rawlife #rawlife247 #losangeles #california #ca #la #knowledgeispower (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4iJnxMhdvr/?igshid=14ipsod6nsqq5
