~ 101 Days of Summer ~ 🌲🎅🏿🎁~ CHRISTMAS GIFT TIPS ~ 🌲🎁 THE WEEKEND EDITION: There is nothing more Christmas in Melbouren than shopping in the heat. Many of us flock to shopping centres for the array of retail options & shelter from Melbourne's heat (thank you air conditioning) and volatile weather. The tradition is often a fun experience: grab drinks with friends / family, do shopping and to be amongst the masses and bask in the craziness of the Christmas season spirit. Yesterday, The Melbourne Attitude was on a mission to gift a lovely friend. Mostly to say thanks but also, to partake in the spirit of giving; showing love, respect, emulating the acts of the wisemen to Jesus, making offerings out of joy and worship. I was initially going to buy a bunch of flowers for my friend who opened her house to me upon my return from Paris. In the florist, I was taken aback by all the beautiful cut and stemmed bouquets, but I was really taken by the potted FLORIBUNDA roses; vibrantly yellow with pink staines. Truly, beautiful. I liked the idea of giving a gift that will last beyond a moment of exchange and infrequent use. With plotted flowers, very often the care is minimal. Further, in the case of gifting budding roses, you are essentially giving someone a bunch of flowers. Also, if you are a person who likes to get their shopping done early, the plant will keep till Christmas day if you follow the instructions. Then, you can pass on a gift that keeps on giving. I placed the plant in my friend's kitchen so she could see them when she got home. Very happy to say she loved them! Very often, florist and nurseries are small business owned.
