Tonight I want to share with you the 2012 Domaine Rolet Pere & Fils Arbois Poulsard Vieilles Vignes from Jura, France. This wine is made from 100% Poulsard from vines that are over 30 years old. These are some of the oldest vines of the Jura. This wine is incredibly light in color and looks like a dark Rose. This Poulsard has predominant notes of red fruits, strawberries and cherries turning to more meaty, games notes. This wine offers a good balance between fine tannins and bright acidity. Poulsard is a red-skinned French grape variety that is a specialty of Arbois in northern Jura. Thin skins and pale coloring are the most obvious traits. Long ferments are typically used in production to draw out as much flavor as possible. The Jura Mountains are a sub-alpine mountain range located north of the Western Alps, mainly following the course of the France–Switzerland border. The Jura separates the Rhine and Rhône basins. If you are looking for a unique, off the beaten path wine, find this Poulsard. Jura wines are incredibly unique and distinct, just be sure to taste with an open mind. . . . . #poulsard #poulsardgrape #jura #juramountains #arbois #domainerolet #redwine #domaineroletpereetfils #france #frenchwine #uniquewine #distinctwine #greatwine #delicious #deliciouswine #wineislove #nyc #nyc🗽 #nyclife #nyclifestyle #scenefromny #scenefromnyc #washingtonheights #newyorker #newyorkcity #newyorkny #newyorkcitylife #localtourist #upperwestside #winelover (at Amelie Upper west) https://www.instagram.com/nycmanofmanytalents/p/BrCDYrYH8qB/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=14qi8fhvked7x
