Last night I did a #facebookLive interview with @iam_ceo_mwp and shared a bit about #BlackGirlMixtape and the #WhatWoukdErykahBadu bodysuits. One of the things I shared in our time together is that one of my legit favorite #scriptures is 2 Kings 4:1-7 about the #widow pouring her oil (go read the text). || Every since I was a preteen when my mother started her first #business, I have been contemplating, #creating, and #manifesting ways in my mind that I would never ever ever have to work for anyone. My first job was at #BestWestern hotel. I worked there for 2 weeks and found a way to talk my mother into letting me be the #operationsmanager of her #daycare. Lol! This meant I had to wake up earlier than everyone, let the babies in, get them fed or changed if they needed to be and then settle them all down (at one point we had 3 infants in our care PLUS the other children). Then get ready for school if it was in session or in the summer I'd have to prepare food for the older kids and plan their #recreation for the day. || Listen... I had to WORK... but I preferred the opportunity to create my day over someone else creating my day. <- There is NOTHING wrong with working a 9-5. I just have never saw that reality for myself. || And so that taught me early in my life that every day is about creating a plan and pouring my oil. Every single day is about creating, #visualizing, imagining, #dreaming, regrouping, launching, trying and trying again. And if I had to give any advice on how to live this kind of #freegirl life I would start by saying... (1). It is not for the #lazy. I wake up before everyone in order to get it popping daily. And I don't stop until the day is done. And (2). Everyday is a #self pep talk. And if you don't have a good internal dialogue with yourself... that's the first thing you need to work on if you're going to be #successful. || You can win. #DoTheWork #PourYourOil #BeKindToYourself || #FreePeople #Freedom #TheFreePeopleProject #ErykahBadu
