placing her phone on it’s front, indigo scooted her chair back and stood up, biting the nail of her thumb. “ okay, three choices, make an alibi for nate, buy drinks for underage kids and turn myself in or pen pal the kid.” she squinted her eyes and sat back down in her seat. “ why do you think bleu ? “ the bichon frise simply panted with it’s tongue sticking out from the side of it’s mouth. indigo slightly nodded her head to the side, “ i know i’m in a fucked situation here but i had to pick thrill it was the smartest choice, if i decided to pick spill- i’d simply out myself or if i lied, i’m guessing the thrills would be worse than the ones now ? smart, i know.” she clasped her hands together loudly, making the small dog jump. “ i know what to do ! it’s easy, first off isn’t he dumb rich ? i don’t need to pen pal shit, second, i don’t even drink myself so- that’s a pass, i’m going with the alibi- yeah the alibi ! “ indigo threw on her hoodie and took some lotion and rubbed it against her barefaced. “ i should at least look somewhat presentable. “ she murmured to herself. she was stuck on the idea whether or not she should wear her slides or sneakers, she shook her head immediately slid both her feet inside her sneakers.
she put her phone on her shoulder, her shoulder was lifted slightly as her ear was pressed against the phone. she fixed the leash of dog as she waited for the line to be picked up. she wasn’t gonna lie, she was scared shitless. you can see the worry in her features, she already had sweat gleaming on her barefaced.
“ dad, i’m on my way to the precinct.. yeah i have a statement to make towards- yeah.” she hung up and placed her phone in her back pocket. The whole unfortunate thing about this was not the whole lying thing it was the fact that her dad was one of the many detectives working on the whole entire case involving powell university. when she arrived at the precinct she swallowed the guilt down. “ i need to get this shit over with, come on indigo.” thoughts swarming through her head. how would this even go ? let me just ace this, no big.
she was placed in those holding centers, you know the ones you always see in movies or tv show when detectives investigate victims, suspects, well now this was her reality. she was in her seat, mouth gaped open as she turned side to side to acknowledge her surroundings “ i can’t believe this place is real. you always see this type of stuff in movies and stuff, but the fact i’m here, it’s just-”
she jumped at the sound of a hand slamming against the metal table. “ this isn’t the time for games, indigo, you think because your dad works here that you-” two detectives were in the room with her. the one who slammed his hand against the table and the one putting his hand on his partners chest to recollect himself
“ wait. is this like good cop bad cop ?” she snickered. “ wow, like i said this is totally like a movie.” she shook her head with amazement written over her face. the two detectives shared a look than glared at the girl. her grin disappeared and she cleared her throat and scooted her chair. “ okay, i’m here to tell you how it is.. the night of the rugby party ? yeah nate was with me. while maddy was getting all, you know-”
“down and dirty” she cupped the side of her mouth with a whisper. “
“ he was with me that night. i took it as my chance to get to know him, he was with maddy this whole time and i never had a chance to shoot my shot but at the party i did. he wasn’t worried about maddy, he had long gone forgotten about her, because he was obviously fascinated with me. i’m obviously not an easy girl. we dated months after the party, of course.” she bawled her fist and slapped it against her free hand. “ well that’s it, i came here to testify-”
“ so why did it take you so long to fess up ? “
“ easy, during our last moments i wasn’t feeling him and we were drifting apart and me being a regular heartbroken girl, i wanted revenge and me not saying anything would for sure be enough. but- he doesn’t deserve this ? “
