ive looked everywhere and havent had any luck so i figured id ask you. do you know of any blogs with a focus on new brunswick politics? or even just the maritimes in general?
There was one that was active briefly a few months ago, but it seems to have vanished.
keep in mind that i havent finished chapter 3 of DttA as of writing this BUT yknow that post where a girl liked another girl in school but didnt know how to express it so she wrote a note to the other girl telling her to leave the school? im getting Very Distinct vibes that keith is writing a similar note to shiro

14: what is your favorite candle scent?
i love the smell of beeswax. i like pretty much anything that isn’t artificially scented. some of my favorite scents are tea tree, rosemary, dragon’s blood, palo santo, pumpkin, and chai/spicy.
send me witchy asks!
cool i have it on hold at my library and i was just wondering what it was like bc not all sequels are gr8 ykno? and when i saw ur post i was like "well why dont i ask them" and here we are. i just finished reading 'scythe' by neal shusterman and im recommending it to literally everybody. its about a couple of kids who are training to basically become grim reapers in a world where humans dont die naturally anymore bc technological advancements. theres a lot of political intrigue and its gr8
aww nice!! and i totally understand the feeling, i havent read the second book in series before because i just had a feeling that id be disappointed. but six of crows was great!!
oooo that sounds super cool, ill check it out!!
hows six of crows compared to the shadow and bone series
keep in mind that i haven’t read crooked kingdom yet, so i can’t make full judgement yet
personally? i liked six of crows....more
to be fair, i read the first two books of the grisha trilogy a year ago, and my mind is fuzzy in some places, but in general i preferred the pacing of soc to the pacing in the grisha books. soc felt faster paced overall and had less slow parts than i felt grisha did
i liked the characters more in soc. which may say more about me than the quality of the books and whatnot, but that is something that stands
both had their humorous moments but i felt like maybe there were...more? in soc? but again, it may be my sense of humor
there is (so far) less romance in soc than in tgt which i personally appreciate, but it is there. and i really like how it is done, while in tgt im...a little more hesitant and wasnt always thrilled with the romance or romantic parts.
i should mention that there is significantly more diversity in soc than in the entirety of the grisha trilogy probably? i know the author has talked about that before, how tgt didnt have a ton of diversity and so she changed that in soc which is really nice. there is racial diversity, lgbt diversity (tho exact terminology isnt used like gay or bi or anything, its very obvious and heavily hinted at without using the words. if that makes sense), one of the main characters is physically disabled, and theres other types of diversity which is great
i feel like the concept of grisha and their capabilities maybe wasnt as well explained in soc as it was in tgt, but there may be more explanation in crooked kingdom or i might have just missed it? grisha is also not 100% at the forefront like it was in tgt so that might have something to do with it
both end up having that ragtag group of people becoming a sort of family thing which i love, soc just does it faster and sooner, which is fun
i also just generally prefer the concept of soc to tgt and i dont know why?
this is long but all in all i love both the grisha trilogy AND six of crows. i think i like six of crows more, mostly due to characters. so i would say that in comparison, six of crows is really good and i would definitely recommend it
