“ love is so irrational . ”
@powerbound | zixin & shay | plotted
Guilt was a horrible thing; it weighed heavily on an already tainted soul, bound hands that were already stained deep crimson with blood. ZiXin had one job, and that job had been to execute Shay Bradley when the covens deemed her a threat. He went to her with the intention of doing just that, but instead he’d found himself neck deep in empathy – an emotion that was usually in short supply with him. Her parents loved her, wanted what was best for her, promised to keep her hidden and off the radar until a way out could be found. He’d agreed, but only on the condition that he could check in on her whenever and wherever he wanted.
It had worked that way for what seemed like forever. He would stop by, get an update, say his hellos, and then move along – content that he’d made the right choice, even if his own parents would have said otherwise. Then, one day, she was just…gone. Assumed killed in a vampire attack that took her parents.
For years, ZiXin assumed she was gone, and then one day a power burst echoed through covens – strong enough that it had them all worried. No one knew the source. Well… no one but him. It was power he’d felt before, only stronger – wilder.
Shay.
Tracking her had been simple, and that worried him far more than it should have. If he could find her, then so could others. It may take them a while to martial the forces necessary to go head-to-head with that type of power, but he knew his coven. They wouldn’t stop until they’d taken that power source out. As much as he wanted to be faithful to his family, he felt responsible for whatever had happened to Shay in his absence. Responsible enough to seek her out.
“I thought you were dead.” Voice was devoid of most emotion, but those keenly aware might detect traces of relief laced through the syllables. “I thought you died when your parents did.” Eyes blinked slowly, making no moves toward her – keeping his distance so as not to appear threatening. I’m glad you didn’t. “Were you responsible for that burst of power? I felt it all the way in China. If I felt it there, then I know they felt it in New Orleans. They’ll be coming. You should run.”
@powerbound | starter call | kitae & shay
Witches were new things to him. Kitae had heard tales of things outside the normal; things that went beyond psychics, seers, and shamans. It wasn’t until he came to America, however, that he actually met them face to face. He had been loaned out by his bosses, sent to help establish a foothold for the Jopok among the countless warring factions of organized crime in the States. It was only then that he learned that while seers like him were in high demand and few and far between, witches – potion makers and spell casters – were plentiful.
Mostly, he had run into those calling themselves coven leaders – important people who spoke too quickly and seemed to stare through him instead of listening to him. He stayed to himself, in the back of the room, reading auras and passing on the information of truth or lies to those in charge. Busan was a long way away, and he missed his home fiercely – especially since he seemed to be an afterthought here, instead of someone treated as if they mattered.
It was this feeling that led him to attempt befriending a girl he saw on more than a few occasions. Up until then, he hadn’t had the courage to speak to her, just sending an occasional nod of his head or smile in her direction.
In his hand when he approached, was a soda still cold from the ice it had just recently been plucked from. He held it out in front of him as he came to a stop and took a seat across from her – enough space that he wasn’t intruding on her personal area. “Here. It’s for you.” English wasn’t his primary language – or even his second language – but he knew enough to have the basics of a conversation. “I’ve seen you around. When your parents are here…” Kitae gestured toward the room where her mother and father were discussing something of importance with his bosses. “My name is Kitae, but you can call me Kit if you want.” He’d come to realize that was easier for most English speakers to pronounce than Kitae. “You’re Shay, right? I heard your mom say your name. Are you hungry? There’s a diner down the street. We could go eat.”
𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝚆𝙸𝚃𝙲𝙷 𝚂𝚀𝚄𝙸𝙽𝚃𝚂 , as she rolls the taste of her drink across her lips, before sapphire eyes drift to the other female. “ the downside of power. is whilst it can help the best, it corrupts the worst. ” okay even for her. that was cryptic. ( … nice going ellie. )

@powerbound said: Your muse surprises mine with a snowball fight for zixin !
Six weeks on the run, but ZiXin couldn’t say that he was regretting his decision to keep Shay out of the line of fire. His parents were pissed; the coven was pissed. Still, he wasn’t willing to go back just yet, until he had some assurances that she would be safe. Negotiations were happening; he’d been in on a few of those phone calls, but it was happening too slowly. Half the coven still wanted her dead, saying she was a threat to their existence. The other half wanted to use her powers, to harness them to help out whatever cause they currently thought was just. Him? He just wanted her safe, happy, and not subjected to the near daily dramatics that came with being near his Coven.
Even so, ZiXin had managed to carve out a little time to just stop and breathe. They were in the middle of a parking lot of a almost-abandoned motel on the outskirts of some small town in South Dakota. The snow had fallen heavily during the night, blanketing the parking lot in a pristine, untouched white. The only tracks he could see belonged to the trucker who was holed up in a room three doors down from theirs. The tracks led away from the motel and toward the diner a few hundred yards away.
So, in essence, they were alone.
“Hey!” he called out, the only warning he would give before a powdery, mushy snowball came sailing through the air – smacking neatly into the back of her coat, right between her shoulder blades. “You should learn how to duck!” Said teasingly, as he ducked behind their car in an attempt to gather more ammunition. “Winner gets to pick where we stop for lunch. I’m not eating any more chicken nuggets for as long as I live.” Another snowball was lobbed blindly over the car, landing harmlessly at her feet. “Just so you know, I’m the king of snowball fights!”

Changmin & Shay - More witchy goodness? Yes, please. Changmin’s business is in potions and poisons. I could see them doing ‘business’ and getting back at the people that did Shay wrong.
Minsu & Shay - Man, can you imagine what it would look like inside her head in a dreamscape? Minsu is a dreamwalker / therapist, but sometimes he can’t control whose dreams he winds up in.
TaiShen & Shay - That hospital that ZiXin found her in was full of ghosts...I’m just saying, that TaiShen could have gotten there first.

younger and weaker than most of her family , a fact she’s had to learn to compensate for : she’s always had ONE advantage that shines in a city like new orleans . she’s far more a t t u n e d to the power of witches . the power she sensed when she first met the harvest girl davina claire had felt much like drowning ( how many times has she drowned now ? the last count was at least t e n ) and what she feels now isn’t much different . except , where she was drowning in a lake with the power of the harvest here she is in the ocean trapped in a sinking ship . “ new to town ? ” eyes AND magic come rest on a stranger , not yet seen with a coven , and her hand BEGS to feel the weight of one of her knives “ i think i would remember if i had seen you around : there’s something about you . ” / sc, @powerbound
