The Greatest Miracle (@powerofriendship)
It was a belated night hour, and the clear sky was illuminated by the soft light, provided by the full moon. If anyone was awake at this time in the city bellow, they’d be able to spot a certain spot, flying across the moon. This spot was none other than Riko, flying on her broom.
Riko was glad that tonight was a full moon. While it wasn’t necessary for her to know her way - she’s actually forgotten how bright the electric lights of the None-Magic World were by now - it still made her feel nostalgic. It was this world’s full moon that gave her a surname, after all. Her surname, a part of her identity that she’s adopted and never let go ever since. And it was all thanks to one person, and one person only.
What did Riko even think to herself, sneaking out of her bed at night and flying all the way the None-Magic World? What was she expecting to find here, after all these years? The answer to that was obvious, only there was no gaurantee that Riko will actually find what she’s looking for. After all, she’s grown and changed so much, who said that Mirai didn’t? Maybe she’s forgotten all about her by now?
Well, no matter, she couldn’t help but think to herself as she lowered in the air, so that she could see the houses better. Riko knew she just had to see her, just one more time. Even if Mirai had other friends by now, even if she doesn’t remember anything they’ve been through together - the truth was that Riko has never had any friend like her, and that she just couldn’t forget.
As swift as a shadow, the witch has flown on the familiar route towards the Asahina household, in which she has spent many happy, eventful days. Right now, however, the place appeared rather calm, with all the lights shut down and the curtains closed. They were all asleep - or so, at least, it seemed.
Flying outside of the window of Mirai’s bedroom, Riko wondered for a moment if she even lived in this house anymore. The moment was brief, though, for just as she’d reached the window, her Dia pendant started to glow, in a way she had not seen in years. It could only mean one thing. She was here, right across the window.
Riko tried knocking on the window several times, hoping the sound would catch Mirai’s attention. When there was no response, she took her wand out of her pocket. “Cure Up, Rapapa! Window, open at once!”, she whispered the magic words and watched as the window magically opened.
“Mirai? Are you awake?”, she asked, her heart beating strongly.
