In the latest episode of #powerpurlspodcast I share a story that helped me trust my knitting intuition and how it allowed passion to be my ultimate compass … even when I couldn't see the road ahead. 💗⠀ ⠀ It all started in a tiny yarn shop called The Yarn Connection, which was once on the corner of Madison Avenue and 36th Street, in New York City. It was the sweetest little shop, and upon walking in to this tiny little haven, it felt as if the busy city surrounding it ceased to exist. ⠀ ⠀ It was the mid-1990s, and I was a struggling 20-something, having just started a career in a field that I thought was creatively aligned with my purpose, which was to pursue a career in New York City's Garment Center. I was over the moon that I landed a job in one of the most prestigious fashion epicenters of the world! ⠀ ⠀ But there was just one BIG problem (and this was a big BUT) – I was utterly miserable. The long hours, cut-throat competition and a boss like Cruella Deville. No thank you. ⠀ ⠀ So, it was on that one destined day that I stumbled upon this sweet little yarn shop on my lunch break. The craziest part -- it was just one block away from where I worked on 5th Avenue and 36th Street. How could I miss it day after day on my ritual lunch hour walks? ⠀ ⠀ Have you ever had those times where you remember everything about a life-changing moment? The smells, the scenery … even the clothes you were wearing, and YOU KNEW your life would change forever.⠀ ⠀ This was one of those moments. 🌟⠀ ⠀ It felt soooo scary because most of the people in my life just didn't get it. They supported me, but didn't quite understand the method to my madness. Yes, maybe verging on a little crazy pants, but that's how I knew it was right. ❕⠀ ⠀ CHALLENGE: Share a pivotal moment that helped you build your confidence and ultimately your unbreakable knitting intuition! 👊
