PP HCs I can’t get out of my head
Aubrey Posen is adopted. She feels pressure to succeed and perform well because she was “chosen” by her family. Subconsciously she’s always been afraid that if she’s just average they will send her back and find a “better” child to adopt and love.
Throughout high school Aubrey overloaded herself with extra-curricular activities in order to be the best at everything. She played lacrosse or soccer, was on the debating team, choir, played piano, violin or cello. Her parents encouraged her but never forced her to do these things. Encouragement fed Aubrey’s anxiety and fear about being successful.
Beca Mitchell’s parents split when she was super young and she resents her dad for moving on so quick and having another child. She feels he’s trying to “replace her”. As she gets older she doesn’t worry about that so much but her younger half-brother is successful and smart.
She never resents her brother though, she loves him.
Her dad has thrown the odd remark her way about “your brother is so good at blahhh, why can’t you be more like him”, not realizing that Beca fully encourages her little brother and helps him out with homework etc.
Chloe grew up around fighting but she had no siblings or help to distract her from that. Her broken home never separated like Beca’s. She had to create her own distractions which is why she took up singing. “You can’t hear the endless arguments if you sing loud enough” she tells herself. I also like to think that her desperation in trying to distract herself with singing helped cause the nodes.
This is partially why the Bella’s are important to her. Chosen family.
It’s also why we see her refrain from swearing and arguments as much as possible especially in PP1 where she avoids choosing between Beca and Aubrey. She doesn’t want her chosen family to be broken either and she struggles separating that from her biological broken family.
Chloe has already had her share of heartbreak but not from friends or lovers, it was from her parents (the people who are supposed to protect and nurture you) and it’s why she deserves her happy ending with her rain cloud.
I saw your post and are you still taking prompts? Could you do something maybe not angstey with Make Me Feel?
A/N: This is brought to you by the person in the middle seat on my flight back from Hawaii who kept trying to read over my shoulder as I wrote. (Also sorry for the epic delay in prompt fills. I was at a friend’s wedding last week.)
The first beams of sunlight peek through the curtains and Aubrey groans as she pushes herself into a sitting position. She leans her bare back against the headboard, muscles relaxed, smiling when Stacie presses a quick kiss to the inside of her knee.
“So,” Stacie starts as she drags herself over tangled bedsheets, collapsing onto her stomach next to Aubrey, “what other skills do I need to master to sail on your ship?”
“Who says you’ve mastered that one?” Aubrey drawls, her eyes tracing the curve of Stacie’s ass.
Stacie scoffs, lunging for Aubrey. Aubrey laughs as Stacie grabs her by the waist and pulls her down onto the bed. She moves to flip them but Stacie throws a leg over her waist. Aubrey’s laughter fades into a wide smile when Stacie grabs her wrists and pins them to the bed above her head.
How about a bemily prompt where one leaves sweet post it notes around the house/apartment for the other? Can either be pre relationship or established relationship, but anon messages does seem to be more intriguing as opposed to knowing who is writing them from the beginning.
Guess who got off her butt and wrote because no exams till Monday?

The notes started appearing frequently about halfway through GCSE season (or living hell for UVths) but the first started right at the beginning.
“‘Don’t hate Mondays, make Mondays hate you’.” Beca frowned at the bubblegum pink sticky note that was left on her headphones. She thinks she passed out on the sofa as her last memory is studying in house study with her layer. Someone (she figured Stacie) had carried her up to her room and tucked her into bed (that part seemed more Chloe).
She rubbed her eyes and squinted at the note again, seeing a cartoon cat doodled next to the cursive writing. She found the smallest hint of a smile tug the corner of her mouth up as she stretched.
