Passion Project - First Concept Logo
Now with the inspiration I gathered from Glossier, and other clean beauty products, I already had a solid image in my head for what I wanted for this first logo to look like. Something sleek, but also playful.
I done some very light sketchbook work for this first logo, because I knew with this concept, there wasn’t going to be as much playing with analog as the next one. I wanted this one to be playful.
I stuck with a circle for the main logo shape because it represents simplicity and playfulness. I think this shape is very attractive in the beauty and skincare industry.
I loved my magazine inspiration of the use of pastel pink and green, and it was stuck in my head ever since I saw it. I knew I didn't want the full s3lfcare in the logo for both concepts, I think the S3C makes it more modern and interesting. It makes the consumer intrigued in what is advertising.
After playing about with different types, different coloured tones and layering.. I finally loved the last one. I love how the letters all overlap, and I love the difference in colour of the letter C.
Now looking at them all, the pink is still a bit too bright for my personal taste, and is more or a barbie pink and pastel, however, I do think this contrasts in with the green very well.
I edited this back and turned up the brightness to make the logo look a lot brighter in colour, and to turn down the colours. I’m not sure what one I prefer, weirdly enough I think i do prefer the unedited version, as this almost looks washed out?
Finally, I decided to mock up my logo on a packaging.
I love the placement of the logo on the bottom photo, i’m just unsure if the pink and green colours are now overused on the packaging? however, in terms of the first logo I am really impressed.
