Fun Dip A very belated birthday gift for @maukree

“Come on, fun dip,” Bucky snorts. “Think you’re gonna be pleasantly surprised,” Peter rolls his eyes but follows him. “You ever gonna stop calling me that?” “When you stop eating the things, I will,” “Fun Dip is good!” he huffs grumpily. “Peter, that shit wasn’t even good-” “-in the forties, I know,” he finishes. Peter's birthday is supposed to be a day of celebration with the team, but the bad guys don't get the memo. It looks like he's going to be spending his twenty-first alone, counting down the minutes until he gets his soulmark- the first words his soulmate ever said or will say to him. But when he finds that Bucky is still hanging around the compound, it looks like his lackluster day might end up being special after all.

Peter came home to the smell of something burnt and the sounds of Aunt May cursing. He rounded the corner into the kitchen and discovered a disaster.

“What??”

“Oh! Peter, hi,” May looked caughtguiltydefeated. “I was trying to make you a birthday cake.”

They stared at each other for a minute, glanced at the mess, and then back to each other before they both burst into giggles.
