Oh, jeez. He didn’t mean for it to be that packed of a question, honestly, but he could get overlooking the slightly obvious things when tunnel vision kicks in. It sounded like the sort of thing where you get so far and you kinda forget why you started doing it in the first place. But that’s for things like overly extra arguments and absentminded jaunts into the kitchen, not business pursuits.

Though, when the other explained himself... Tails understood. Sights snapped down with a nigh audible stare at the mention of invention hijacking, but turned back to his work slowly once Plankton did as well. Gently did he yet again pause, though, head leaning somberly into a fist.

“I get that. I mean, I can’t endorse it, spite’s one heck of a motivator, I’ll give you that, but it probably isn’t something you should run on forever. Still... I get that. I’d be pretty upset if someone took my creativity and ran off with it, giving me none of the credit whatsoever.”

“Hint hint.”

“But I can see why you’re still upset over a thing like that. Thing is, I wouldn’t want it to poison my alternate pursuits and bleed into other things I enjoy. I mean, I bet’cha couldn’t tell me the last time you just enjoyed a hobby. It sounds like a lot of work and energy. Otherwise known as effort that could be going into things like... amusement parks! Let’s go back to that! I’ve got a...” Friend? Sworn enemy? His relationship with Eggman sorta rode a weird line--

“...Frienemy that takes a genuine liking in amusement parks, but he’s never had the time to really delve deep into that interest because he’s always trying to take over the planet and bend nature to his robotic regime.” Also the amusement parks are, too, being used as fronts for acts of evil. One time it wasn’t even a front, it was just an evil amusement park. Period. But he did once say that he just straight up likes amusement parks, so... Tails wasn’t technically wrong.

A shake emits through Whisper’s wispon, tossing the much smaller Plankton to the winds. Gloves hands tighten their grip around the weapon, and gives it a spin to the side as Whisper lifts it off the floor from where it was resting, leaned against some rubble.

Though it’s not vocalized- there’s a very heavily implied ‘paws off’ vibe to the way Whisper acknowledges Plankton from behind her mask; defensively pulling her gear further away from him.
