#PictureOfTheDay 📸 Because when there's a dinosaur display outside the gas/restaurant/rest stop, for no apparent reason, you make sure to check it out. We explored throughout every area we went to while on our trip (and not just the main attractions, but those around and within them too). It was only fitting that we maintained those efforts on our way back home. A day full of driving certainly deserved some stops along the way, so it was as nice as it was unexpected that we had an extra excuse to roam around this one while passing through Quebec. It just goes to show that there's always more to explore, anywhere and everywhere across this great country. 🌎 #PPSxMAWxPEI (at Saint-Léonard-d'Aston, Quebec)
#PictureOfTheDay 📸 There are many things that make this country an amazing one, but the natural beauty we've been able to experience while on the East Coast has quickly proven to deserve a spot atop that list. Spending the day at the Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick, we left Halifax, Nova Scotia early enough to make it in time for the 9:37am low tide and weren't going anywhere until we witnessed the 3:28pm high tide, as well. Not only did we walk the ocean floor in between but we also enjoyed exploring the park itself. This beautiful view comes courtesy of the trail towards the rocks and it seemed appropriate to shine a light on what may otherwise be the spotlight if it wasn't overshadowed by the obvious. We have a lot of nature to love in this country - get outside and embrace it. 🌲 #PPSxMAWxPEI (at Hillsborough, New Brunswick)
#PictureOfTheDay 📸 Unexpected beauty can often be the most genuinely appreciated. As we walked around downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia (after visiting Alexandra's Pizzeria, because we obviously had to get Alex that photo op) following an adventurous day spent enjoying Peggy's Cove, we came across Halifax Central Library. Alexandra had mentioned seeing that this was a recommended spot to checkout but I wondered why. Until we walked in. It wasn't massive; it wasn't over the top; it wasn't complex. It was simple, modern, and bright. A welcoming aura, perfect for a library. Behind the customer service desk was this wall, full of intricately and precisely placed mini picture blocks. The splash of colour alone made it a vibrant site, while the attention to detail made it a work of art. 🎨 #PPSxMAWxPEI (at Halifax, Nova Scotia)
In our efforts to lead healthier lifestyles, it’s great to see that better options are becoming more readily available than ever before (both far and wide across this country). What’s more is that we continue to find a local freshii right where we need one and often much closer than expected. Evidenced as we continue our East Coast road trip, we stopped for a bite at a mid-drive stop to stretch our legs in Kingston, Ontario, we also had a location right across the street from us in Charlottetown, PEI, and we now even have another within the same hotel complex we’re staying at in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Special thanks to freshii for helping fuel us along our trip, supporting our adventure and goal to eat better. It’s amazing to feel good fuelling on it at home in Oakville, Ontario and even better when we get to rest assured that we’ll be able to on the road, as well! 🍽🔋#EatEnergize #PPSxMAWxPEI (at Halifax, Nova Scotia)
#PictureOfTheDay 📸 Countless books means endless possibilities and that's exactly why we love visiting campuses whenever we get the chance. From the familiar to the fresh, being at school equates to progress that awaits. We love that feeling. We made sure to check out Dalhousie University when we got into Halifax, Nova Scotia today and although most areas were closed that didn't stop us from roaming (and evening finding some buildings and rooms that weren't). Not even the rain could stop our efforts. I told you this is something we love to do - did you really think we wouldn't find our way there today? 🎓 #PPSxMAWxPEI (at Halifax, Nova Scotia)
#PictureOfTheDay 📸 An amazing thing about Cavendish Beach is that it's actually so much more. Both of us are fairly confident this is the first National Park we've ever been to (we've visited Provincial Parks in Ontario) so it's even that much more special to us to be doing it here and now. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach yesterday but switched gears to exploring the rocks today. Most views of this area are from across the sand or at the top of the cliffs, but we safely made our way right down to water level to embrace an amplified version of the breathtaking visuals. ⛰ #PPSxMAWxPEI (at Cavendish, Prince Edward Island)
#PictureOfTheDay 📸 From our focus being the beach as we embarked upon our day, we didn't really think about what else we'd see once we got to Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. Much to our surprise, the whole area has all the essentials of what we love when we go to places like this - including an amusement park, with more to do within it than a roadside view would suggest. After spending the day at the beach, an evening of fun was a great way to make it an even better Monday than it already was. 🎟 #PPSxMAWxPEI (at Cavendish, Prince Edward Island)
