What headcanons do you have for the PowerPunks? They're really cool and I would've loved to see them in the OG series. Thank you in advance!
I go ahead and treat the “mirror opposites” pretty seriously. Anything the Puff are, the Punks are not.
To differentiate the punks from the boys (cause if you don’t they’re just the same characters tbh), I like to think of the Puff world as inherently good. This means that its core, everyone in the Puff world leans good, including villains, which is why HIM has such an interest in destroying it and why the “bad guys” have genuine moments of humanity. This makes acts of evil in the Puff world all the more evil, and explains why the citizens of Townsville would stay in Townsville if it was such a cesspool of crime prior to the girls.
The Punk world being the opposite of the Puff world is, therefore, inherently bad. Even the “good guys” there have bad intentions at their core, which they try hard to fight against.
With that world building framework in mind, my idea of the Punks gets pretty dark. They aren’t good sisters to each other, practically strangers, who only work together out of necessity. It’s a very dysfunctional relationship with Brat likely being the one in charge. Given how much the Puffs love each other, I just don’t see the Punks loving each other at all.
Going off opposites of the Puffs, I think Berserk is adequately named. Likely not the smartest Punk with a nasty temper. I’d also imagine her being the most sensitive, narrow-minded, and lacking in ambitions. In general, I feel her character would be most similar to the rowdyruff boys. Brat, also adequately named, would probably be the more dominant Punk, taking up the most space, abusing peoples trust, and a bit more materialistic. I think she’d likely be most similar to Princess.
Finally there’s Brute, who’s personality in canon is just Buttercup but more aggressive? Idk she’s the one I’m most like bleh about. I think if she’s opposite of Buttercup, she should be more of a “talk the talk, not walk the walk” kind of girl. All three of the Punks are fake, but I think she’d be the fakest. Wants people to desperately think she’s tough, but when it comes down to it she’s a coward.
At this point, that’s all I really have on them! I don’t think about them too often unless I want some really good Bad Guys. In sum, though, I feel they’d really like being evil and wouldn’t be interested in changing. And despite not being incredibly close to one another, they’d stick together because they can’t find anyone as chaotic as them to hang out with.
Finally, I don’t think the Punks would ever meet the ruffs, but I have a feeling they wouldn’t like each other. I do think it’s funny that someone in the fandom (I can’t remember who off the top of my head) makes Brat a call girl and all the boys follow her lmaooo.
Haha sorry I know this is kind of a bummer, but sometimes I really just like villains staying irredeemable villains!
