The Evolution of PR Communication In The Era of The Internet
Ways of communication always been evolving
I am 32 yrs old. I am a 90s kid and I feel I am living in an era of change. My first memory of television was a box with back and white picture quality. I had seen PCO located near Paan shop in my village. Akashwani was the only radio that was there. Many more such things were there that you can’t see right now around you. The way things changed. All these things that I had mentioned above was a medium of communication. Not even the mediums were different but they were limited. I still remember; in my village, people use to gather around one person and that person with a loudspeaker used to announce. Same things were being used by businesses as well. The way due to the lack of yrs of revolution has brought the Homosapien what we are right now. The same goes for every other sector. Every sector in this market has gone through that phase.
Pictures to Voice :
The first evolution that took place in communication; was pictorial representation. As in through pictures. When the camera was invented in the 19th century. It gave us another eye with memory to capture the moment and communicate. Many incidences took place in the field of communication after that.
The invention of Radio:
While pictures were the one way of communication as of now. Then the invention that shook the world and given a new edge to communication was the invention of the Radio. Source- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio .
I find it so fascinating when for the first time someone heard the human voice on the radio. The invention of the radio has changed communication so much so that it was like the beginning of a new era. It allowed us to communicate with the mass.

Public Relations in the Digital World
I had three original objectives outlined for my class “Public Relations in a Digital World.” These objectives were to: Establish the foundation for understanding PR in the business environment, establish the framework for planning, distributing and monitoring PR plans, and to understand the role of PR with the impact of the digital age. The class met each of these objectives by establishing a foundational knowledge of PR, brands and the marketing mix, analyzing the persuasive techniques and PR principles of established brands, examining the process and functions within the PR strategy, and analyzing the ever-evolving marketplace in regards to social platforms and new technologies.
Throughout the course, we covered a plethora of valuable information. This included understanding the changing landscape of public relations centered around an open communications strategy that combines traditional methods and social media strategies. We focused on the importance of defining your target audience and how to establish your personal brand as a PR professional, specific to content creation in the digital space. Additionally, I learned about the importance of fielding social commentary and real-time communication in the digital space, the importance of PR in the marketing mix and understanding digital platforms in regards to PR strategy, how to identify various PR practices and persuasion strategies, and the art of drafting engaging messages with press releases and public service announcements.
So how can I apply all of this knowledge? I will incorporate these PR principles in establishing a framework for my personal brand that connects with my specific publics. I will be able to analyze various brand content in regards to the persuasive strategies used for various PR campaigns and understand the psychological motivators behind their effectiveness. I can apply these principles to both individuals and organizations to assess the value of PR campaigns. While applying this knowledge first-hand, I will develop a deeper understanding of effective strategies and tactics used in various PR campaigns and be able to apply this to the ever-changing technological landscape used to publish digital content and build relationships. Overall, I can apply my knowledge and assert my expertise in developing effective PR campaigns used within the digital space for both individuals and organizations.
