So, this not be a round by round breakdown, but rather a short theoretical analysis of both players' strategy.

Smug's gameplan is rather simple; get past the range where Dudley can be outpoked by Balrog (especially HP, HK, and cr HK) into a range where he can threaten with his normals and he also want to get PR Rog into the corner where he has access to better pressure, mixups and damage.

PR Rog's gameplan is to pressure Smug at the range where his pokes beat Dudley's, and punish walks forward. If Smug breaches gets too close, he will resort to cl HK and cr LP both of which are fast and have good priority.Pr Rog being such an aggressive player, he wants walk forward and use his special moves to reset that range and obtain favorable screen positioning. So in essence, he is seeking to play an aggressive and pressuring footsie game, with a bit shenanigans when things aren't going his way (aka EX Overhead Dashpunch)

In this match, Smug insane sense of footsies and fundamentally sound approach really showed (as well as his amazing combos). Pr Rog showed some great footsies also, but he seems to be taking more risks than needed to by jumping in at smug and by generally pressing A LOT of buttons. I believe that somewhat more defensive play, and choosing more restrictively the moments in which to use the cr LP might have resulted in a win for PR Rog.

This being said, i am not by any means a top player, and this is purely my opinion on the match
