Happy Pride Month, everyone! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ This is actually the third Pride-related drawing I have done this month, but the first I've done for Hue Shifters. It feels so good to make art for this universe again! :3 I have one more drawing planned for this universe, but with how my art energy has been lately, I'm not sure if it'll be done in-time. If not, it will still be posted in July!

Back to this, this is the second "what-if" ship I wanted to draw/explore for this month, featuring Azure/Prachal~! 🖤🦚✨️ Originally, Azure and Prachal were only meant to be sassy rivals together, but when I realized how much they actually have in common, their ship potential started to rise for me. I just think it would be so interesting to have them start off with this fun banter together, slowly realize they actually have a lot of similarities, start to gain strange romantic attraction to the other(on top of the physical attraction they secretly already have), and then figure out how to make a potential relationship work. With both their jaded experiences when it comes to love and relationships, will they take more of a casual, "friends-with-benefits" sort-of approach at first, or take the plunge and trust each other with the chance of a sweet romance?

For their looks here, I just put them both in outfits I had as fashion inspiration for them(with my own touches, of course), and particularly for Azure, I decided to give him some color to his hair like I contemplated before(so they both could be hair-dye BFs lol) 🩵 I don't know how noticeable it is to some, but I decided to switch out Azure's bridge piercing for a right nose stud(so it matches Coral's better, but I guess could also match Prachal's now too lol), since it was something I low-key contemplated doing for a while. He could potentially still have it at some point in his life, but for the sake of the change you could say he took it out. Also, I knew these two would probably have a small height difference but I didn't intend for it to turn out this drastic lol, so Azure probably has on some heeled boots here or something. Something that also didn't get portrayed much above is that Azure also identifies with being more androgynous/gender-non-conforming, as while he still mostly identifies as male, he also never really cared about gender roles when it comes to appearance and presentation.

I still have quite a bit in-mind when it comes to building their potential relationship, but that will be for another day so this doesn't get too long lol. I hope you enjoy! ❤️

Originally hailing from Ivairis, Prachal was born into a poor family that was left with very little money after their business was embezzled by a trusted business partner. Combined with his parents already having very little support from their family or so-called friends, they were humbled very quickly from their previously privileged and carefree lifestyles. Growing up he knew very little of his parents' struggles as they were ashamed and wanted to raise their kids away from the ways they used to live. In school he did everything he could to rise the academic and social ranks and not be associated with his family's past, but no matter how hard he tried to hide and keep it secret, someone always found out and had to painfully remind him of it. Combined with his natural colors being shades of brown compared to the flashy and more popular jewel-toned peafowl-harpies, they did not help matters as he got bullied and picked on for many reasons. Constantly having to prove himself and having low self-esteem and depression, he could not wait for the day he could graduate high school and move far away to start a new life for himself. He traveled for a while before settling in Chromia, intrigued by all the celebrity figures who were able to make it big in their respective field after coming from similar situations as him. It took him a while to find his place in his new home, but after meeting his new friends who he came to see as his new family and getting the famous big-city makeover, he was starting to feel more confident in himself and hopeful for his dreams as he had people who genuinely supported him. After having a chance to figure himself out and explore his sense of style, he became interested to take up modeling both from his friends hyping up his good looks and his own interest in the high fashion industry, particularly for the sections that promoted self-individuality and expression. Another desire of his to become a model was to show to others that hard work and grit can get you closer to the life you want, and that anyone who does not fit standard beauty conventions can still shine in their own beautiful way. His career was slow going at first, but eventually his more flashy style landed him gigs for luxury brands, which is where he first met his rival, Azure Hamasaki. While both have similar motivations and wants to make something of themselves and be more from their troubled childhoods, ironically they never quite got along as they never opened up that much with each other. Neither really remembers who started their rivalry as it was one quip between them that sparked their sassy banter together, but ever since they have been trying to out-do each other with their modeling work and getting under each other's skin when not on sets together. Interestingly though, despite the "bad blood" between them many fans and mutual acquaintances have noticed a "tension" between them that suggests something else may be going on than what they display publicly. Whether people interpret as possible friendship or something more, neither has made any comment on it, other than they do their best to be the "better" model.

This is something I originally sketched a month ago, that I was going to share the sketch here but forgot lol. But, here is the finished drawing!

This is something I wanted to draw for Prachal, of him in his natural colors as a glimpse into this part of his past(he is about 18 here)! 🤎 For those who do or don't remember, he is a peafowl-harpy, with his natural colors actually being shades of brown. In real life this coloring is a mutation known as "cameo", compared to the common/blue "Indian" peafowl you normally see/think of. While he has a lot of unrelated struggles and issues, his more "drab" appearance certainly did not help him growing up. It wasn't till he moved to Chromia, met his friends who became like his new family, and slowly found his confidence that he started to figure out himself and his sense of style more.

This is also how he appears in the introductory piece I wrote where he first meets his new roommates! :D That piece was from fall 2024 for a script-writing class I was taking at the time, but I'm currently in the process of building and fleshing out the roommates, so it might be a bit before I share or rewrite it. Still, I hope you enjoy! ^w^
