Here is a belated piece for Pride Month! 🌈✨️ After I used my Hue Shifters characters to return to my Pride Rep series for this year, I realized that out of all of the HS main characters, I never drew Azure in Pride attire before! I don't know why, and it's also kind of weird since he was the very first character I ever made for this particular universe 😅🥲 But here he is now, repping his omnisexual pride! 🩷💕💜💙

I already had this cut/style of shirt drawn for him, but when I looked up 'omnisexual flag shirts' to get design/color placement inspo, I found a shirt in this exact style with the torso part black and the flag colors on the sleeves! Which the same exact style was a coincidence, but I couldn't resist going with these color placements as they fit Azure's style pretty well lol. Speaking of him, I did give him a tiny design update! I mainly just changed up his hairline/bangs situation to give him some middle bangs, since I tended to do that in picrews I made of him as I couldn't properly replicate his previous widows peak, but I also think it adds a cute touch to his design! I also thought to add the teal to his hair again for this piece, as I did like it the last time I drew him with it, plus I think it helps him stand out a bit more(with the heavy black he typically has in his design) 🩵

Since I had found some names for Prachal's siblings a while ago, I thought I might play around with what they look like! Made in this picrew for now, but I might eventually draw them out someday. From left-to-right: Prachal, Navil, and Mayuri!

As what has been mentioned briefly before, Prachal is a triplet! This was inspired by the average peafowl clutch size, plus I don't have too many characters across any of my universes that are triplets, so I also thought that could be something fun to work with. I don't have a specific birth order in mind yet, but I do imagine all three as fraternal triplets. They all have different thoughts about their natural colors. Prachal doesn't like his(prefers dyeing his hair and wearing more bright, jewel colors), Navil doesn't care either way and sticks mostly to them for simplicity's sake, and Mayuri doesn't mind them but also likes fun colors(usually just for her clothes, but sometimes adds a little color to her hair).

Navil and Mayuri both stayed/still live in Ivairis, but despite the distance all the siblings still check in with each other and have regular facetimes to catch up. Because of this, in the story "Maybe There's More To Life", they will mostly just be mentioned but seen a couple of times. As Prachal's siblings, they have more unique and personal opinions about his love life, having grown up with him obviously but actually getting to see his past failed relationships and being more protective about his heart potentially getting hurt. Though again, as his siblings they also know how stubborn and dramatic he can be at times, so they also act as some of his biggest teases through their support.

- Navil

Triplet sibling to Prachal and Mayuri. Average height with an average build, short and curly dark brown hair, light brown skin, warm brown eyes, scar on his left eyebrow and eye, glasses, creamy brown feathers when in full harpy form, and ears pierced. The most studious one out of his siblings growing up, he was more of the shut-in loner type that focused more on studying and books as he never cared to make friends. Not that he was necessarily shy or anything like that, he simply just did not want to bother with people he knew would not be a genuine friend to him. This mostly worked in his favor as most people just ignored him anyway, but one day as a teenager he caught the attention of some bullies that were starting to get physically aggressive with his brother. After stepping in to help stand up for him, he unfortunately got caught in the crosshairs that resulted in him not only gaining his scar, but now gaining the attention of the bullies, too. Thankfully he was able to get the bullies expelled, but the incident only furthered made him want to stay away from anyone that was not his siblings. When he finally graduated high school, he moved to Ivairis' capital for college to pursue a financial degree, inspired in part by his parents' history as he wanted to help others avoid what they experienced. While he has opened up a bit more as an adult, he is still more of a quiet and observing person that prefers more peaceful and simple pursuits, such as the creative writing he took up recently as a hobby.

- Mayuri

Triplet sibling to Prachal and Navil. Tall height with a thick hourglass-like build, long and wavy light brown hair with caramel highlights and curtain bangs, light brown skin, warm brown eyes, light makeup, creamy brown feathers in full harpy form, and ears double-pierced. Mayuri was always the more outgoing and social-butterfly one between her and her brothers, having a more positive and hopeful outlook on life as she tries to focus on the bright side. While she did get subjected to a lot of the same teasing as them, she was also very charismatic and became popular amongst their peers for being really kind and sweet. While she did her best to be polite about it, and she is an anxious people-pleaser who has trouble standing up and advocating strongly for herself, she never cared about being popular as she preferred to stick simply with her brothers and small circle of friends. When she later came out and starting embracing herself as the girl she always was, she started gaining more confidence and focused more on her siblings' support than the negativity she faced. When she graduated high school, she knew she wanted to work in lgbtq+ advocacy and activism, and moved to Ivairis' capital with Navil for college so she could pursue a degree in gender & sexuality studies. She has recently gotten a job at an lgbtq+ center, working primarily in the event-planning and fundraising sections. In her spare time, she enjoys collecting cute trinkets, shopping, and having fun with her physical appearance. She is inspired by Prachal to take up some modelling, but she is unsure about trying for bigger gigs so she sticks mainly to showing off her daily outfit and makeup looks on social media.

Piercing Refs: Rowan Roussel, Indigo Neel, Morado Fiala, Mayuri Pavone, and Navil Pavone

Although I haven't gotten around to officially introducing these characters yet, I've technically shared a little bit about and drawn them all, so I thought I would make a piercings post for them!

- Rowan

. Has several piercings, mostly in their ears

. They have triple lobes and a couple sets of cartilage/helix for each ear, plus their left eyebrow

. Growing up, their parents were very strict about their appearance and self-presentation, so they were never allowed piercings

. It took a lot of convincing to allow them to get their ears pierced for the first time as a teenager

. After they had cut their parents out of their life as an adult, they started to do everything they had always wanted to do with their appearance, which included getting more piercings

. They are pretty content with the piercings they have currently, but wouldn't be opposed to the possibility of getting more in the future

- Indi

. Has a few piercings, mainly just triple lobes and his navel

. First got his ears pierced when he was a kid, as he really idolized his sisters at the time, and wanted to match with them

. Genuinely liked having his ears pierced after that, so he got a couple more sets of lobe piercings over the years

. Didn't get his navel pierced till he was in college, but he found them attractive on other guys and aesthetically-nice to look at in general, so he thought it would be fun to get his own done

. Has thought about the potential of getting other piercings, but he is actually pretty content with what he has now

- Mori

. Only has his lobes pierced once

. Got his ears pierced when he was young but never really thought about getting anything else done after that

. Even now he isn't sure of what else he would want to get done, besides maybe more simple ear piercings

- Mayuri

. Has double lobes

. Got her ears pierced for the first time with her brothers on their 13th birthday

. Got her second lobe piercings done in her high school years, as she started her transition

. Wouldn't necessarily be opposed to the idea of getting more piercings, as she does generally like them, but would have to really think about what else she would like to get done

- Navil

. Only has his lobes pierced once

. Like his siblings, he got his ears pierced on their 13th birthday together

. He has no interest in getting anything else pierced

And finally, to conclude the Pride Rep series for this year, we have gray-asexual/graysexual pride as represented by Gracen~ 💜🩶🤍🪨

Gracen, like Primrose, is a character that the last/only time I drew was his bio ref in 2022. For those who may not remember him, he is the second-born royal child and prince of Pallomore. In contrast to Ivairis, while Pallomore is a little further away from Chromia, the two kingdoms always got along much better than the latter with Ivairis. While Gracen is not the eldest child in his family and thus not the heir, he is still pretty well-liked amongst the royal court and citizens. While he is more withdrawn and not as flashy or confident as his older brother, he does not despise him or the amount of attention he has received recently as he prepares to become king soon in the slightest, as the two actually share a chill but close bond together. He is more of the strong, silent type, believing actions and meaningful words count way more. While he is more quiet and keeps to himself nowadays, he was much more friendly and outgoing when he was younger. He was the closest to his favorite childhood friend, Princess Amethyst Coran of Chromia, where the two had a young love that quickly turned tragic when the attack on Chromia happened and he lost almost all memories of her and her country having been a kingdom. He has never felt the same since losing her, having this ache and hole in his heart where she once belonged that no one else has ever been able to fill and replace. While he is mostly over the initial sadness and does or tries not to think about her anymore, a deep part of himself is still affected by her absence in his life. Next up for the Pride Rep series we have asexual pride, as represented by Navil here who is also repping his aromantic(or aro-ace) pride~ 🖤🩶🤍💜💚🤍🩶🖤

Navil is another one of the newest characters as he was first conceptualized earlier this year, and is the triplet-sibling to Prachal and Mayuri! Like Mayuri, he still lives in Ivairis while their sibling Prachal moved to Chromia after high school. Next up for the Pride Rep series, we have demi pride, as represented by Mori here who is also repping his trans pride~ 🖤🤍💜🩶🏳️‍⚧️

I recently drew Mori for MerMay, so I won't go into his character too much again here, but I can share a little more about his identity! He knew he was demisexual around his middle school years, a few years before he realized he was trans. He didn't understand romance at first despite liking it as a concept, but eventually realized he could have those feelings after enough time and a deep connection has formed. Thus, he has only had a couple of serious crushes throughout his life. Currently he is single, but he does have a pretty big crush on one of the other characters~ I hope you enjoy! ❤️

Next up for the Pride Rep series we have nonbinary pride, as represented by Rowan Roussel, who is also repping their pan pride~ 💛🤍💜🖤🩷💛🩵 Rowan is another one of the "newer" characters, though one whose very initial concept was from a couple of years ago. They are 28, a dragon, color motif is red, and the one who took Prachal in years ago as part of the household and friend group(with Indigo and Morado, also). They are the primary owner and head of the house, originally moving in together with Indigo(a friend from high school) after college and a couple of other roommates, with the original thought of creating a sort of "safe haven" for other lgbtq+ people. Some roommates have come and gone, but the longest group has been with them, Indi, Mori, and Prachal, who have all been living together for years as best friends and chosen family. This is especially important to Rowan, who had cut their unsupportive parents out of their life when they became of age. Though they no longer wish to speak or associate with them, they have inherited a lot of their "business savvy" ways, as they became a recent co-owner of a drag club with an ex-partner and good friend, along with them having already made a career as a drag performer themself.

In terms of personality, they have a wise and subtly teasing, "older sibling" vibe, chill and sensible, with low-key team parent energy too with how they are always checking in with everyone. They are very intuitive(to an almost 'unsettling' level), selfless to the point of self-detriment sometimes, can be explosive and violent/scary when truly angered, and tends to bottle up true feelings to put on an 'on control' front. This is only some of what I have for them so far, as I still need to finish up their bio. But until then, I hope you enjoy! ❤️

Here is the last of the Pride Rep drawings I currently have drawn, here we have pan pride as represented by Primrose~! 🩷💛💙🌸💕

Since the last/only time I drew her before was her bio ref in 2022, for those who may not remember, she is Coral's older sister! Heiress to the powerful Rogue vampire clan, she is very charismatic and alluring, knowing how to command a room and capture other people's attention. Since she was always deemed the more well-behaved and "favorite" of the family and community, she often used that to her advantage against her sister. Not that she hates her sister or anything like that, but from being six years older and raised differently, sometimes she can't help but act like a bossy and condescending know-it-all around her, which has caused a rift between the two that they are still slowly trying to break. A great networker, she has taken to the partying lifestyle and acting as a socialite amongst her peers and society, but she makes her true living from being a lingerie model and part-time actress, with a somewhat big social media following on her glam makeup looks account.

I'm not sure if I see her currently having a romantic partner or not, but I can see her as someone who has enjoyed many casual and a few serious lovers over the years. She knows she's attractive, and likes to have fun with other attractive people when she can.

It was really fun to get to draw her again, particularly for her pretty gradient hair and giving her a little more jewelry(plus, a little peak of her primroses tattoo and her naturally long, sharp nails)! :3 I hope you enjoy! ❤️

Next up for the Pride Rep series, we have trans pride as represented by Mayuri~! 💙🩷🤍🏳️‍⚧️

Mayuri is one of the newest characters, first conceptualized earlier this year, and she is one of Prachal's siblings(together with their brother, Navil, all three are triplets)! Although I did get the initial idea for Prachal having siblings when I drew their bio reference, I didn't get around to working on them till sometime this year. Mayuri, like Navil, still live in Ivairis while Prachal is building their career in Chromia. Growing up, Mayuri was always the more popular and outgoing one between her and her siblings, a sweetheart who always tried to look on the bright side but always was too much of a people-pleaser who had trouble standing up and advocating strongly for herself. When she later came out and starting embracing herself as the girl she always was, she started gaining more confidence and focused more on her siblings' support than the negativity she faced. I actually drew Prachal for Pride Month last year, but this is the first time I drew him in his pride flag colors. I wanted to lean heavily into the bi colors for this by not only including them in his shirt, but his hair and eyeshadow also. In terms of his dating history, I do see him with at least two prominent exes, one being a guy in his late teen years and the other being a girl a little more recently in his life. I haven't figured out much beyond those two, but he is currently single with a curious, almost flirtatious energy with one of his fellow models(but of course, knowing who it is he denies it all).

I'm going to be honest, even though I haven't finished all of the drawings yet I think this one is my favorite. I hope you enjoy! ❤️

I've drawn her for Pride Month once before, a couple of years ago as part of a 'shippy' piece with the sweet fashion elf, Esme 💚 I also drew her in lesbian pride rep before too, for Lesbian Day of Visibility in 2022, so this drawing also acts as a redraw of that piece!

Happy Pride Month, everyone~! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 I did not mean to take so long into the month to start working on/uploading my celebratory art series for it, but I've still been struggling a lot in a few areas(financially and mentally, mostly) :( But, I've already got half of the drawings done, and I'm very hopeful I can still get the other half done before the month ends! For this year, I am returning to my 'Pride Rep' series, and finally getting the chance to use the Hue Shifters characters for it~! 😁 I had wanted to use these characters for years but didn't have any characters that fit some of the selected identities till around this year, but I am super excited for what I have planned! :3

For gay/mlm pride, it is being represented here by Indigo Neel! 💚🩵💙 Indi is one of the 'newer' characters, although the very initial concept of him was from the fall of 2024. He's 27, a fairy, main color motif is blue, and he's also part of the friend group/house with Prachal. Indi works as a musician, primarily playing at local venues and small, indie music festivals. In terms of him being gay, he's been pretty confident since figuring himself out and has had a few ex-partners. He's currently single, but he does have a crush on one of the other characters~ ;P

Since I made a similar poll a while ago about trying to figure out what Saffron's potential partner should be(species-wise), I thought I should do the same for Maris' potential boyfriend! These are based on two personalities I had in mind, as well as two different monster species I was thinking about, too. A lot more context is in this post if you want to check it out to get a better idea before voting!

I also added in a "poly is the answer" option just because! I'm not too sure on it yet myself, but I do admit it could be interesting and at the least, it would be a good opportunity to work with more poly pairings.

Even if you are not the most familiar with my character Maris, it would still be a big help if you could vote anyway! You could think of this instead as which personality + monster combo you like better :)

Kind of late, but here's the results for this poll! I honestly did not know what to expect with only three votes, but thank you to the few who did vote! I am just glad that there were no ties. I honestly did not expect the poly option to win! I mostly just put that one there as a potential one in case neither of the main boyfriend options were individually appealing, but it is pretty surprising to me to see that one get the most votes. I don't have too many poly pairings with any of my OCs currently, and certainly anything I do have is not with one considered to be a main character, so I do think this could be pretty interesting to work with 🤔

Since flirty but secretive selkie was the only other option that got a vote, I think I will go with that combination with the sweet and humble demon being the other boyfriend option. Which is actually the opposite of what I originally was thinking, but I do like these options as they feel like they are breaking expectations.

I don't know when exactly I will get around to fleshing out these new characters and their romance with Maris, but these results do help with the few ideas I already have floating around in my head!

I saw The Birdcage for the first time recently, and, I'm low-key getting ideas for a potential AU inspired by it(that, or just general ideas for my OCs). Particularly for my character, Rowan, who works at and co-owns a drag club themself!

I don't know if this would cover the entire plot of the movie, but I had in mind that Rowan co-owns their club with an ex-partner(as well as being an owner, they are also one of the performers). I could imagine this ex being a performer themself too, or Rowan eventually getting a new partner who is also a performer. Because Rowan has dated a lot of people in the past, it could be a potential possibility that they could have a kid from one of those former relationships. Which could then follow the way the movie goes, with some tweaks of course to work better with my characters and universe.

Rowan is too young for this kind of AU to work in 'present' time(they're currently 28), but this could be a possibility when they're older! I'd have to think about and work on this more, but I just find the concept interesting and it's fun to get inspired by other media sometimes!

Let's make a Witch! (Open!)

I've been doing a lot of work for @hueshiftersofficial on the side so far this year(albeit, slow progress on some ideas), and part of it is making new characters to help flesh out the world a bit more!

One of those character ideas is for a human witch(specifically to be a potential love interest for my character, Saffron, but also so I can have both a human + witch character in this universe), which I don't have too many ideas for aside from a 20's-age range. Thus, I thought it would be fun to use this template made by @geminineart to help create them! :3

Since I'm not sure how many comments I'll get on this, feel free to combine a couple of answers into one(or comment multiple times)! All I ask is to try and keep it orderly and check if the comment you were going to do hasn't already been posted. I originally posted this on my Instagram, but thought I would post here too to see what answers I might get on Tumblr!

Happy MerMay! 🧜🧜‍♀️🧜‍♂️ I always try to draw at least one mer to help celebrate the month, and for this year, I drew one of the "newer" characters! This is Morado Fiala, or "Mori", who is a mer! 💜 Here he is in his natural, full mer-form, though he can and does take on a more human form for land.

Mori is also one of Prachal's housemates and closest friends! His earliest concept is from around fall of 2024(mostly just as a first name and color motif, with some small details that could get scrapped), but earlier this year I started work on actually developing and fleshing him out as a proper character more! It is still a work-in-progress, but hopefully I can finish his bio info soon!

For now, I can share some details I have! He is 24(making him the second-youngest in the group), who moved in a year prior to Prachal. He studied theatre arts in college and currently works at a smaller theater, though his exact role I haven't figured out. As a mer, he is pretty musically-talented, though aside from some roles and other small jobs, his career as a musician is mostly just for fun or at-home. I still need to figure out his whole personality, but I would say he is probably the 'softest' of the group. He is also a trans man, having figured himself out and starting his transition in his teen years. This is also the first time I've drawn a shirtless trans character, or have drawn top surgery scars, but I wanted to attempt it for this piece.
