What weird things do you do when you’re alone?

Talk to myself...in ASL!

I go over the lessons on Lifeprint that I’ve watched.  I review words.  I introduce myself, over and over: “My name is Jen. I’m hard of hearing. I’m getting married to J. I have a son, his name is Lynn.  My family is hearing. I have two brothers...” ...and so on.

When I’m in traffic, I bitch about it using BIG exaggerated signs!  And then I point out what colors the cars are, their makes and models to practice fingerspelling, their license plates to practice numbers (and damn do I need number practice!), and I sign about whatever else comes to mind.

My practice over the past couple days.....tomorrow I’m off, so I’m gonna keep practicing....I have a lot of work to do...

Tried out an exercise last night which involved my friend drawing random shapes in pencil, and me trying to faces in them. HAD SO MUCH FUN. And this little sandlot kid came to life, too, so that was cool.

So at my job for the last few months i have noticed a man that comes in and works on comics. Finaly today i talked to him a little about that and about i want to work towards doing comic art or art in general as a job.

A few hours later right before he leaves, he gives me his card and tells me to contact him if our art is in the same vain.

So, no. 

You can tell he is professional. He has substance and practice.  

Mine is not well established enough in training and I have a few issues with it. I also feel my work is more to a highschool level of art even though i am still aiming hire.

So I think i will slightly stock him and read his blogs. I might even try to converse with him. My ability at this moment is not on a similar level though.

I am proud though that i talked with him. It took me a few months to do it but i did it.

idk I'm just kinda happy bc my singing voice has improved a lot over the last year :3 Still not perfect, but I'm getting there
