I was gonna answer right away but then yk, the idea pop up in my head, and here we are lol I can't help myself 😭🫶🏻
Serena makes up her mind early that year—Halloween is serious business. No cutesy pumpkins or princess dresses this time. She wants to be a Hunter. Like Mommy.
You guess it’s because she saw your squad on TV a few months ago—that battle you did with your squad. And because of that even your nephew and niece won’t stop talking about your sister as well.
So naturally, Serena insisted, and you say if that the case the twins have to be like Daddy.
You barely have to ask Zayne before he gives his quiet blessing, the corner of his mouth twitching as he glances at the little lineup of miniature slacks and button-ups you’ve prepared.
“Just so I understand,” he says, eyeing the tiny white coats you’ve modified with little ID badges that read Dr. Li, “I’m being... copied?”
“You’re being honored,” you say. “In duplicate.”
Callum is the first victim—flat-faced and wobbly-legged in a pint-sized version of Zayne’s usual doctor attire, complete with an expression that accidentally mirrors his father’s neutral stare.
Zayne’s gaze lingers on Callum a moment longer than usual. The child’s face is unreadable—eerily familiar.
“He’s... unsettlingly accurate,” he mutters, though his hand stays warm and steady on Callum’s back. “I wasn’t aware I looked that serious all the time.”
“You do,” you say, grinning.
He huffs gently, but doesn’t argue.
Lucas has more trouble keeping his ID badge from turning into a toy, but once dressed, he does a very dramatic slow turn toward Serena, as if awaiting approval.
Serena—wearing a miniature replica of your Hunter uniform, complete with toy holsters and a fierce spark in her eyes—beams. “You both look just like Daddy.”
Your eyes meet Zayne’s over their heads. She says it with so much pride. His expression barely changes, but something softens in the way he looks at you—like he feels it, too.
“We should probably get a photo,” you say.
“Before Lucas eats his badge again,” he adds.
Callum nods once, solemnly.
Lucas stuffs his badge in his mouth like that’s his cue. Serena immediately pulls it out and wiggles her finger at him. Lucas laughs, catches her finger instead, and says, “Sister funny.”
You’re already reaching for your phone when Serena plucks the badge from Lucas’s mouth again. “Alright,” you say, backing up a step. “Everybody stay still—Doctor Li, Doctor Li, and Hunter Li, please look this way.”
Callum stands perfectly still. Lucas fidgets with his coat. Serena salutes.
“Daddy Li, please step into the frame as well,” you add, lifting the phone.
Zayne raises a brow as he moves behind them. “Do I have to smile?”
“You could try,” you tease.
He exhales something almost like a laugh, and you catch the moment mid-smile.
Then a few more—Serena insists on one with just her and her “partners,” then one with you, and finally one with all of you together. Your phone is carefully propped on a stack of books, set to timer mode. Lucas barely stays still, and Zayne’s arm stays curled behind your back, steadying you both.
By the time you’re done, the room is filled with laughter, a handful of blurry shots, and a warm little pile of memories tucked into your gallery.
You lower the phone and glance at the screen. It’s imperfect—slightly crooked, Lucas mid-blink, Serena already turning to check on her brothers—but it makes something settle in your chest.
You wouldn’t change a thing.
“Alright everyone, we’re heading out to trick-or-treat in a moment. Do you still remember what to do?” you say, slipping your phone into your side bag.
“Knock,” Callum says.
“Wait for the door to open,” Serena continues.
You nods, clapping your hands, “And then we say—”
“Trick or treatment!” Lucas says suddenly, completely wrong but very loud.
You and Zayne both pause.
“...We’re keeping that,” you say.
Zayne just shakes his head, rising to his feet. “Let’s go before someone starts diagnosing strangers.”

I am a big fan of Timothée. Even though he had a bit part in this episode and was heartbreaking he got K.O. This is something of a little tribute to Eric's character. He still has magnetic screen presence overall.
