AAAAAAAAnd I've sent in my bachelor thesis. Yeah. It's done. If I pass (you never know) I will actually have a formal education in music. Wild.
Like, five years ago I wouldn't even think this was remotely a possibility. But it happened. And like, I even published music and one more song is on its way. And I started this as an adult.
Something something inspirational but yeah, practice and study do work.
after 1,245 days i have returned, bearing images
i am trying to draw at least monthly. to practice color work, i have drawn my oc's mom
The black bear as an Adobe Illustrator project.
Sketch. Scanned, then edited for symmetry.
Inked. Scanned, edited and adjusted for symmetry.
Placed in a .AI file, Image Trace, then filled with global color. Paintbrushes were edited, made, adjusted, and applied.
Practice work in Adobe Illustrator…
The last time I used Illustrator was way back when in college. That was 2001. In real life, most of what I do are full color illustrations that involve the use of colored pencils and digital photography on a base of pen and ink line drawing — which I combine together in Photoshop. Yes, Photoshop — the program I use on an almost daily basis for like everything.
So, the time has come. I need to be able to use Illustrator proficiently. For the past 5 weeks I’ve been reading directions, watching tutorials, and taking notes. Oh, I’ve practically written an instruction manual for Illustrator as pertinent to screen printing. My notes are thorough, contain small illustrations, and are often color coded.
This is my practice work. From what I gather from advice on youtube — separating graphics by color to print the film that is then made into screens is very important. It is possibly the most important step.
Practice work in Adobe Illustrator… tracing a sketch vs. an image trace of an ink drawing.
