So many have unrealistic expectations of practising brothers and sisters. You see a brother who has a beard and wears the thobe, or a sister who wears the hijab/abaya, and you automatically think they are perfect.
Free from flaws. Free from errors.
But you have to understand that they are only human. They’re not perfect. They are merely travelling on a ship in a vast ocean, increasing their knowledge as they go along.
Some may be sailing fast, some may be sailing slowly, others may be edging forward inch by inch every year. The point is, progress is progress.
It doesn’t mean they are not susceptible to storms. There will be storms. There will be waves. That’s part and parcel of life. But by the help of Allah, they will overcome these waves so their ship becomes unbreakable.

This is a reminder to myself, first and foremost.
