the donors banquet → 29th september

mari decided to make something of an effort, given that it was the first event of the year and she might meet some important people. but not too much of an effort. her red velvet and lace slip dress is from humble origins, and the gold jewellery that was formerly her mother's is paired with black combat boots. in her bag, she carries her phone, perfume, lipstick (aileen's suggestion), cigarettes and a lighter. and her notebook and pen. just in case.

far from dominic's first year in attendance, the notable features of this particular fit include: the initial hanging from his chain, a gift from aileen herself on their last anniversary; the rare glasses sighting, almost unneeded for their thin prescription, should he not be one of the students paying rapt attention to the speaker; and an undershirt and buttons in correspondence to his date's dress, planned meticulously, weeks in advance. dom knows nothing if not how to look his part.

EVENT 002: donor's banquet

tallie bernal showed up fashionably late to the banquet in her summer's best, toting a moschino houndstooth heartbeat bag stocked with all the party supplies (drugs) a girl could need!

"oh, thank you - it's vintage," emilia smiles at the alum who complimented her dress. "from a retired designer in new york." the true origins of the dress are unknown, as emilia had snipped the tag as soon as she'd gotten it home from her local thrift store last summer. but if she could pass it off as something rare and expensive, then she'd call this one a success.
