How might the game have turned out differently if Sean hadn't died in Rhodes?
Beyond it being a bit more light-hearted? I don’t know if Sean could have changed a lot. He was a bit more gung ho than some of the other gang members, so I imagine that he would have jumped at the chance to do some of the scores.
I do think though that we wouldn’t have seen the same sad fate with Karen, her slide into alcoholism and depression was in a lot of ways a direct result of Sean’s death. Sure she is seen hitting the bottle a bit hard early, but after Sean’s death she becomes completely inconsolable and the spiral happens so much faster. It’s really sad, and I still wish we knew what became of her.
I do think that Sean would have sided with Arthur though, I would have loved for him to have been a voice of reason to keep them from doing the Saint Denis bank robbery, but I see him more as someone who would have been excited for that.
Sean would have also been 100% with Arthur and Sadie for rescuing John, because Arthur and the gang did the same for him. (If he would have been helpful is a completely different story)
