On the west side of town you'll find 'Prairiewood', the backbone of Dismal's economy. The land is so flat you could see everything for miles, making it perfect for ranchers and farmers alike. Prairiewood is surrounded with open pastures, orchard farms, and other forms of nature making it hauntingly beautiful and peaceful, but also eerie in a sense that you could drive for what would feel like an eternity without seeing any signs of civilization. Residents of Prairiewood typically live miles away from one another which is perfect for those who wish to live their lives undisturbed. But locals may not find this perk so great as of recently, as there has been plenty of strange sightings and unexplainable events being reported. Glowing eyes following people on the road, hearing something moving quickly through the corn fields, dead live stock scattered on the road-- the list goes on and on with no real explanation in sight and a dreadful feeling blooming in the stomachs of Prairiewood's residents. Prairiewood is typically made up of lower-middle class locals, but not all of them have a career in farming. As well, you'll also come across a couple of establishments that look like they're behind the times. But other than that, there really isn't much to do in these parts other than work or stay indoors.

BLUE MOON MOTEL MOTEL often referred as 'the dog house' the blue moon motel doesn't typically see tourist looking for a place to rest. instead it sees feuding spouses who have been kicked out of their homes and people looking to meet up with their secret lovers without the prying eyes of others watching them.
owned by the silverside pack members, many new pack members and those who have been recently been turned are often offered a place to stay to help them process their new lives within the pack. there's an outdoor pool open during the summer time and basic cable in every room. like many other establishments, the decor is dated.

GREENRIDGE FARM FARM one of the oldest and largest farms found in dismal, greenridge farm is known for employing many of the locals and supplying the town's basic food resources. greenridge practices all forms of agricultural, including livestock, crops, orchards, and so on. as well, the farm is open to the public and hosts seasonal events throughout the year such as apple picking, corn mazes, hay rides, horse back riding trails, and many other attractions that make it a fun place to bring the family to every year. the farm is own by several families who each focus on one of the several types of businesses they operate on the land.

BUSY BEE FLORIST SHOP FLORIST while busy bee's is a small, modest florist shop, they are always busy considering all special events, funerals, and anything requiring flowers seek out their services. the atmosphere is laid back and peaceful with a majority of it's staff being fae considering they are the most gifted when it comes to caring for plants.
you’ll find a small green house out back as well as a community garden set up to encourage locals to get more involved in learning about gardening and the benefits that come with it.

DISMAL RECREATIONAL CENTER PUBLIC SPACE you can find all sorts of programs and classes held at the recreational center. they've recently expanded over the past several years as the population of dismal has increased considerably; opening up an indoor pool, gym, ice rink, and open rooms members of dismal are welcome to book to hold their own classes or private meetings.

DISMAL'S PUBLIC LIBRARY PUBLIC SPACE being one of the oldest buildings in the town, the public library possesses vast resources of knowledge and history within it's walls. almost anything you could ever find on the supernatural can be found here. but keep in mind the library has been enchanted so that it can protect the content it keeps from getting into the wrong hands. rooms and aisles seem to shift and disappear, making it very easy to get lost in there if one isn't careful.
there are certain parts of the library that are off-limits to guests. some are strictly for members of the blackwood coven, while others are for the morrison nest. each area is guarded by enchanted suits of armor which come to life and will attack anyone who does not have permission to enter these areas.
it's said there are even darker, more secretive areas hiding in the walls of the library. secret passages and rare magical items that only the very elite have access to. while many have attempted to investigate whether any of this is true, no one has been able to successful evade the enchanted knights.
