In the wake of death, destruction, or loss, one enters grieving through what is known as a ‘shock or denial period’. This work—an immersive environmental installation—explores this shock period through painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture on upcycled materials and fabric. Referencing Pompeii’s ‘Villa of Mysteries’, the work also reinterprets ideals of the feminine and the ancient through a contemporary lens. Hunt or be hunted, take shelter or make shelter. On a Jitney, East End bound, thinking how excited I am to install #blueit! @guild_hall. It’s my first EVER piece in a museum in New York.
