MEDIUM  CLOSE - UP :   steady  hands  pour  the  contents  of  the  blender  in  a  hurricane  glass  and  slides  it  across  the  counter  to  the  other.   an  amused  smile  lights  up  jo's  features,  the  blonde  isn't  easily  entertained  but  ellie's  company  would  do.

JO :   oh?   is  this  the  part  where  you  tell  me  you're  an  alien?   ( a  pause,  she  looks  at  ellie  with  eyes  squinting. )   did  someone  give  you  drugs  before  you  came  in  here?

      ❛      and  what  is  it  you  do  with  them  ?      ❜    of course there was a reason connie felt so close to ellie.    there’s no need for touching or gifts to prove a point.    besides their conversations deep into the odd night  ,  ellie was always going against the grind just like connie did.    now they’re outside under the old setting sun in the middle of a forest.    somewhere along the way they’ve lost their shoes  ,  but that’s okay.    connie is kneeled beside ellie with one knee digging into the dirt and tiny rocks while the other is propped up making skirt wrinkle.

    she marvels at the little trinkets in a small box that still has dirt caked in some corners.    ❛      you  leave  them  here  ?    is  it  for  me  to  find  ?      ❜    they still are favored in the likes of the forest.    a part of them has been ingrained within the forest and relentlessly calls them back.    if it is for her to find  ,  she won’t forget this spot.    she studies every inch of the forest like her own house and remembers what happened where.

HI DILLY DALLY i am so glad to be ur friend talking to you is always a treat and i love hearing abt ur ideas and all of your characters they are all the silliest beans in existence. while they're all distinct from each other they also all fit so well under the Dillion Universe just you have such a distinct style and world that for me it's very easy to see your work and go 🫵 dillion did this. which is fun!! i know u will go great places and have fun getting there!

if it hadn't been for her painfully sarcastic observation —— there was a chance he wouldn't have even noticed the freshman couple nearby. he now wished that had been the case. and once a blue gaze settled on the eyesore sight , it was enough to bring a small twist of distaste to his features [ ... ] sweaty palms holding hands as if they were anchors , quiet giggles after leaning into the others ear , ogling exchanges meant just for the two of them ; but public affections would instead be put on display for the rest of the poor singles in their vicinity. eyes gave a roll before he averted his attention to glance back at teddy and became too unbothered to lower his voice. ❛❛ yeah , nothing says romance like a relationship that'll last two weeks tops. ❜❜

maybe he was bitter... or maybe he didn't like being forced to bear witness to couples only seconds away from sucking face. the jury was still out —— but both were very likely possibilities. ❛❛ gross. shouldn't they like , be in school or something? ❜❜ no , because it was a late saturday afternoon and it's no ones fault but his own that he can't keep track of the days in a week.

he's quiet for a long time at that, fingers twisting his lighter around in his left hand as his eyes followed the movement. he'd been in a bad spot when he'd shown up at teddy's door, a surprising injury and a chance taken on a stranger he didn't know. well, it was either that or die, he supposed. he had a hard time sitting with everything unless he repaid his debt. "well, consider it a gift on my behalf. any time you need a favor, you call the number on this card and ask for a contractor, and then give them my name. got it?"

he chuckles softly, shaking his head at the question. had he missed her? he can't help the smile on his face when he sees her. he can't help the rumble of butterflies in his chest. he was always easy with a pretty smile. "you're a sight for sore eyes, even if you're a pain in my ass."

there's palpable relief on her face as she peers through the peephole and spies jamie on the other side, backing up to undo the multiple deadbolts before she lets him in. "thanks for getting here so quickly— i um, i don't usually freak out about nightmares anymore but this one felt..." in lieu of answering she closes the door, taking the time to redo all the locks before she turns back around. "...and well, as you can imagine i didn't take that very well so i told him where he could stick that rejection letter." there's a toothy grin on aurora's face as they plop a piece of popcorn into their mouth. she holds up a hand to pause as she swallows, shoulders shrugging slightly.
