Hello and Welcome to the Phandom Reverse Bang 2019!

If you don’t know what the Phandom Reverse Bang is, here is a synopsis: 

It’s the Phandom Big Bang, but in reverse! If you don’t know what the PBB is, the Phandom Big Bang is another event that’s held where the author submits a fic idea that they’re going to work on, and a beta and artist claim the fic so the that author can bring it to life! For the Phandom Reverse Bang, or the PRB, it’s the artist that is in charge! The artists will submit an art prompt and some art to be written about by an author and it’s the author and beta’s job to flow the art into words and provide a nice fic for the artist!

This is this years tentative schedule:

Artist Sign Ups - April 6th - 13th

Author/Beta Sign Ups - April 14th - 21st

Artist drafts Due- April 21st

Claiming for Authors for art and Betas- April 26th - April 28th

Team Reveal- May 1st

Mandatory Check In’s Sent Out- May 19th

Posting- June 15th to July 1st (or so)

Artist sign ups for the 2019 Phandom Reverse Bang are officially open!

Just like before we are not limiting art to just drawings, any sort of art is welcome. If you wish to collab on an art piece that is accepted as well.

Please Keep in Mind:

You can only sign up for three roles. That can be a combination of an artist, author and/or beta. So, you can’t sign up to do 3 pieces of art and be an author/beta as well.

For the posting days you must have one completed piece of art. Just like last time we are allowing more than just traditional/digital art. Artistic gif sets, moodboards, drawings/graphic designs all count as art. If you are unsure if what you want to do is considered “art” just send an ask and we can let you know! You will need to have an art draft done and submitted to us by April 21st for claiming!

Please make sure that your messages (asks at the minimum) are turned on so we have a way to contact you if needed and your team does too when the time comes.

Author/Beta Sign Ups!

Sign-ups for Authors and Betas are now officially open! 

This year, we wanted to let everyone know that we have 29 pieces of art to choose from and 80+ spots to claim! The prompts range anywhere from high school au’s to science fiction and fantasy to even interactive art where you create your own prompt!

We realize that this is an exciting time, but here are some things to keep in mind when signing up: 

You may sign up for up to three roles as this is a commitment that takes up time. Those three roles can be a combination of artist/beta/author. If you would like to be all three, you are welcome to go for it! 

On your posting date, you must have one completed fic. This fic must have been checked over by a beta. We ask that this fic must be at least 2.5k words. We have changed this requirement to make it more accessible to everyone. You are allowed to go over this word count. 

Having a beta is required. We will provide authors with a directory of the betas that have signed up to claim just like last year! You may ask someone else outside of this directory. However, we do ask that you inform us of this and provide us with the URL of your beta and consider claiming a beta from our directory to make it fair for those who sign up.

Betas will not be claiming fics. Authors will be claiming betas using the same claiming sheet as the artwork. It’s the same system in place as last year that we will provide more information about in a later date. While this may seem scary, we have systems in place so that beta’s will end up working on a fic that they are comfortable with. 

Betas are there to help provide feedback and edit your fic to be the best that it can be. Betas and authors should talk to each other about their expectations before starting the beta’ing process. 

And finally, make sure that your messages and asks are turned on. We will use this to contact you if needed and for your team to get in contact with you. We promise to keep our asks and messaging at a minimum.
