For an hc or dabble can we get a fright between roy and jade but jade keeps flirting with roy during the fight when he is trying to stop her
“So what, you’re just going to ignore me now?” Jade asked from inside the shower. None of her usual tricks or suggestions had worked. She’d even invited him to join her in the shower, which was quite rare. At least, for her. Usually she was the one attacking him in the shower.
Will didn’t say a word to her. Instead, he continued to brush his teeth, choosing to pretend that she wasn’t even there. The former assassin narrowed her eyes; ignoring her was childish. She knew he was angry with her, but she was doing her best to fix things, in her own way. The least he could do was take the bait.
Once he’d left the bathroom, Jade turned off the shower and wrapped a towel around herself--loosely. Time to play hardball. She returned to the bedroom and situated herself behind her husband, resting a feather-light hand on his shoulder.
“If you keep acting like a little boy, we won’t be able to have any fun,” Jade purred.
Will shrugged her hand off his shoulder, refusing to turn. “Not interested.”
She smirked. “He speaks.” Jade trailed around him, relishing the way every one of his muscles tensed as she did so. She stuck a finger out and nestled it under his chin, forcing him to look at her. “That’s a start.”
“Do you think this is a joke?” Will growled. “This isn’t the time for one of your games.”
“It’s always time,” Jade retorted with a flippant shrug of her shoulders. “Why are you so angry with me?”
Will plucked a cellphone from his pocket, dropping it at her feet. Jade immediately narrowed her eyes, sucking in a deep breath. “You swore.”
“I can explain.”
“Not interested.” Will pulled away from her, running a trembling hand through his hair.
“It was just a routine job."
Will immediately whirled around on her, eyes bulging with anger. “Routine?” he nearly shouted. “Routine what? Routine murder? Routine kidnapping?”
“Did you think I’d just... stop being Cheshire?” Jade asked, her voice hardening. “I do what I need to do to keep my family safe.”
“I thought we were in this together.” Will glanced back at the phone before turning his gaze towards Jade. “You kept this from me. We promised no more secrets. It’s a two-way street, Jade.”
Jade shook her head, picking up the phone and pocketing it. “Trust me, Harper. The less you know about this, the better.”
