Starting a new chapter in life is always scary. As humans, we often fear the unknown, so just remember that feeling scared is normal. However, remember to have faith. Trust in God’s plans and that everything will eventually work itself out even if it does so in ways you never thought possible. The questions you are currently asking will soon be answered, you will be at the right place at the right time, and whatever you may have in mind--God always comes up with something way better.
See rejection as redirection. When the time comes and you don’t get the results you’d hoped for--the job you were really banking on getting or the school you were really hoping to get accepted into--remember that it doesn’t lessen your worth; it’s simply redirecting you to something that you’re better suited for.
Don’t be too hard on yourself and trust the process.
Happy Wednesday, everybody!
I just came out of what seems to be my fifth hiatus this year and instead of taking each passing day meticulously planning out what I’m going to post, I’ve decided to just post something.

This week is about maintaining focus. I have about a month left in my undergrad career (minus the last three weeks of Winter term that’s dedicated to my dissertation), which means I have about a month left to really make the most out of it. This semester, I’ve noticed that my focus has deteriorated a ton and looking back at old studyblr posts and even Instagram archived stories confirm that. For some reason, I’m just a lot more distracted and a lot less focused.
For the next week, I am challenging myself (and challenging you) to maintain focus. This challenge includes self-awareness since you’re going to need to dial in and check in on yourself to see if you’re becoming distracted, proactivity since you’re going to need to figure out ways (maybe even new ways) to keep yourself focused on tasks, and discipline since this challenge entails putting distractions away especially when you catch yourself getting distracted by them.
I am predicting a lot of temptations ahead of me. This challenge means saying no to hanging out with friends if I have some studying that needs to be prioritized, actively taking myself off of social media, admitting to myself that I’m becoming distracted, and trying out different methods that may be uncomfortable at first in order to keep myself on track.
I am aiming this challenge towards my study goals as well as my fitness goals. This morning, I woke up extremely early but spent an hour and a half rolling around in bed scrolling through social media... that hour and a half could’ve been spent preparing and eating breakfast, heading out to the gym, reading a book, meditating... you get the idea--I could’ve been more productive.
I will be logging my thoughts if I feel the need to do so and will be sharing any techniques that have helped me along the way!
Please feel free to reblog and spread this challenge around. I would love to see if it helps out anyone else.
Hello, everyone. This upcoming school year, I'd really like to be more active on Tumblr. So, I thought, what better way to engage than to introduce myself? I think I've done a few of these introduction posts in the past, but since it's been a while and I'm looking to revamp how I post things around here, I figured I'd do a new one!
Please reblog, give me a follow, and/or leave something in my ask box! I'd love to follow and get to know more people :)
I am a pre-physical therapy, Exercise Science major with a minor in Computer Science. This Fall, I will finally receive my diploma after 4.5 years at my university!
The reason I wanted to start my studyblr back up is mainly for accountability purposes--I am a lot more productive when I see my work/progress in action. Posting and doing studyblr challenges, such as the 100 days challenge, will keep me motivated throughout my journey on becoming a physical therapist.
In the next year, I would like to start posting more on my YouTube channel about health and fitness and my journey as a pre-PT student.
I love engaging with others online and learning more about study tips, how to keep your mental health in check as a student, and other ways to help the community!
That’s all folks! I hope you enjoy my content!

Yesterday, I said yes to an incredible opportunity that has already changed my life for the better. I signed up for a mentorship program, Pre-PT Grind, that I've been keeping an eye on for the past few months. It's a program that's designed to, not only help you with the physical therapy school application process but to also guide you through the ups and downs of the PT career as a whole. Additionally, it provides pre-PT's with a network that will help push and support you throughout your pre-PT and PT journey.
After watching a couple of introduction videos and listening to a few podcasts, I knew right away that this was the missing piece I'd been searching for. I quickly scheduled a call with one of the mentors, Casey, and immediately signed up. After welcoming me into the family, he asked how I was feeling, and I instantly told him, "Oddly calm," which was true. Don't get me wrong, I was beyond excited, but simultaneously, I felt this stillness--a sense of security that I was finally taking steps toward the right direction.
When I was introduced into the Facebook group, I was immediately welcomed with open arms. For the next couple of hours following my sign up, I "met" so many people pursuing the same career. Low GPA applicants, people applying this cycle, people preparing for next year, I even met a few people from the Bay Area and one that's here in the Portland area! My whole world suddenly expanded and closed in at the same time. I'd never felt so in-place when it comes to my career.
For a couple of years now, I've doubted my decision to pursue PT. At some point, I even decided to switch out of it. But after yesterday, things have never seemed so aligned. It was as if I'd opened the door to Narnia or had gotten my acceptance letter to Hogwarts. I am now a part of this community that I know will change my life for the better, and I honestly couldn't be happier.
I am incredibly overwhelmed (but in a pleasant way), and am so excited to start this journey.
Here I am. On my way to getting my DPT.
Ahhh organic chemistry is killing me. I'm so close to an A 😭😢. Weirdly enough, I like o-chem just bc I like knowing synthetic reactions and why they do what they do. I hate memorizing things so if I can work them out in my head, it feels 10 x better. I also have 3 finals on the same day back to back so I really don't know how I'll study for all that.
Also why I'm inactive

It's only my second day of inpatient observation
...and I love it. Things can get a little rough, a little hard, but I find it fascinating. I want To throw myself into this career with all I have. I'm lucky to have a great PT to observe -- I'm already learning a lot.
