"How long will they not believe in Me"
Honestly, there is no other cuss word that angers me more than the GD. What exactly do you intend when you say it? Are you actually intending to damn God yourself? Are you requesting God to damn something at your own will? Why is God's name even being used in the same sentence with a cuss word?
God's name matters to Him. So much that the 3rd commandment was for the people of Israel not to take his name in vain Exodus 20:7. He even says that he will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
You think you can just damn the name of the great Jehovah, and not go unpunished? I'll tell you right now, God has punishment for you.
You are making God's name to be a name used in the dirtiest of conversations. You are making the name of the great creator and judge of everything else on earth to be marred as you curse him. You are making Him unholy. Unsacred.
God is the most holy. When Isaiah sees a vision of God on His throne and angels present, the angels are covering their feet and eyes. They very well may be covering their feet lest they make the robe of the Lord unclean. When I think of angels and cherubim, I think they are so pure and holy. But not even angels can bring themselves to be near equal amount of sanctified with the Lord. That's how holy my Lord is.
When I think of people in the bible who attempted to make God unholy I think of Uzzah. Perhaps he was in good conscious, but he touched the sacred Ark of the Covenant, a representation of God's presence with man. Uzzah died immediately. God killed him for irreverence. II Samuel 6:6-7.
When the spies came back from scouting out Canaan, a land God had promised them long ago, and gave a report that they wouldn't be able to take it, God turned them around. God had told them that He would give it into their hands, and the spies still told the people that they couldn't do it. In Numbers 14:11-12 the Lord is furious, "How long will they not believe in Me" He says. They didn't believe in the word of the Lord, and it cost them their lives and 40 more years of wandering in the wilderness.
Sure, it bothers me when people say GD. But what really matters is that it bothers Jehovah God. He's shown that He's not afraid to kill people due to irreverence and unbelief on single occasions, what do you think He'll do to you when you damn Him daily?
