Credit to @raya_hubbell_precision_coach : Whose getting back into open water swimming now that it’s warming up!?!? ... For anyone who listens to the @cyclistpod you will know that I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to the cold... especially in the water!!!!! So my top tip for keeping warm(er) is to double up on your swim cap and keep your head warm. This will help stop warmth escaping from your head! My other tip - Use a swim buoy! Mine is a @newwaveswimbuoy but there are loads of companies out there that make them! Doesn’t matter how good of a swimmer you are in the open water you want to be seen and if you get cold OR more likely get a cramp because of the cold, flotation devices are great to help you rest and recover!
