T’Pol looked at him unwaveringly. She could determine from the context that ‘an item’ indicated a romantic relationship.

“Regardless of whether or not you and the ensign are ‘an item,’” she repeated the phrase as if it left a bitter taste in her mouth, “your behavior is inappropriate. This would hardly be the first time that your demeanor has been interpreted as… flirtatious. If that is not how you intend to be perceived, perhaps you should strive to be more self-aware.”

30.Jacket: how do you feel about pumpkin flavoured things in general? & 35.hoodie: how different was your life five years ago?

Pumpkin flavoured things are good! Not as good as real pumpkin, of course, but I rather enjoy them!

Five years ago my life was very quiet. I didn't leave the Solar system a lot, not did I have reasons to. My sister was single. My work was more research than anything active. My self esteem spoke do softly I did not always hear it. I had not been assigned to this fine ship, and I was yet to meet you, my dear significant annoyance. It was not dull, but I like now better.

“Thanks.” Trip plugged it in and his face lit up with the console. “I love 23rd century technology. I can’t believe how much has changed in a hundred years.” Right up until the console beeped, then he yanked the plasma capacitor back out before it could blow the EPS grid. He sighed. “Any more bright ideas?”

A few curses-a mixture of Andorian and English-left the engineers mouth as she watched the attempt fail. Running a hand through her hair, she paced a little.

"Maybe it's the materials? Channeling power into and out of it to fast and causing it to overload?" She queried the other engineer.

"Or maybe one of the components is drawing to much power, I've seen that before, in old tech."

But I’ve never worked on Starfleet issued ships before so I don’t know how your rules work. Sorry.”
