The more time passes the more convinced I am that Callum will be the one to free Rayla’s parents, or be highly involved with it at last.
He is a character who does things he is not supposed to achieve and more if it’s related to love. Mastering the sky arcanum was after doing dark magic to save Rayla, and she was there supporting him in his dream trip, paralleling the love for his mother. He grew wings (a really difficult spell) just to save her from dying, etc.
Finding a way to save her parents, without dark magic, because he loves her.
The former High Mage coined Rayla’s parents out of hate, the new High Mage will free Rayla’s parents out of love. Wouldn’t that be beautiful?
