also I know I’m belaboring the point but No One On This Writing Team Knows What a Fairy Tale Is
Heidi and Anne of Green Gables are children’s stories and their cultural pervasiveness might even have a folkloric element at this point? but one of the FEW things I can say for sure about fairy tales is that they have characteristic supernatural elements
like the more I learn about fairy tales, the less I know, because so much “sure” knowledge is actually more bound up in popular ideas about fairy tales than in the stories themselves. but that part I’m sure of.
