PrefPlus Lovestruck Hotfix

Quick hotfix to PrefPlus to avoid the game crash caused by randomizing custom preferences after the Lovestruck patch.

Thank you to Zerbu for his new utility mod (required) and Cidira for pointing me in the right direction to fix.

This mod provides new outfit and venue preferences, as well as over *20* general interests, for selection in CAS using the new likes/dislikes system. Preferences have unique social and computer interactions (I stopped counting at 100), whims, moodlets and autonomy settings!

Why Download?

Everything is optional (nothing will be automatically applied) and there are NO overrides to regular game functionality, which should make it compatible with most other mods, and less likely to break with patches.

Icons and writing feel immersive / natural to the game as much as possible

Buffs are intentionally kept very 'mild' (in other words, your Sim won't be overwhelmingly delighted by wearing athleticwear if their spouse just died)

Gives your Sims more unique personalities through their interactions and reactions, both directed and autonomous, and makes bonds between similar Sims feel more genuine

Social interactions add more than just flavor or relationship increases through new moodlets and revealing of relevant traits

Several interactions, including new computer interactions, provide random moodlet results, increasing playability through the element of surprise (such as reading a horoscope).

There's always more to do, but I've been working on this for so long that I'm anxious to let everyone start to play with it and hear their suggestions for the mod moving forward. :)

AutoAdd Feature (aka. Preference Bomb!) 💣

As soon as you load the game or exit CAS, etc all Sims in your game will have preferences intelligently applied (if they don't already have a like and/or dislike in that category). It shouldn't overwrite any existing preferences that are set.

If you don't like what gets rolled for someone, you can remove that preference (or all preferences) and either use the 'add random' feature in the Actions menu, or open/close CAS again and it'll add new ones.

There's LOADS of logic in it. For instance, it's as specific as Father Winter being quite likely to Like Cold Weather Clothing and Winter Holiday Music. ;) I've done countless tweaks to this over time after observing the results, and I'll continue doing so, so don't be afraid to provide feedback.

There are 4 flavors available to choose from (pick one):

Likes and Dislikes, all Sims

Like and Dislikes, only unplayed Sims

Only Likes, all Sims

Only Likes, only unplayed Sims

I highly recommend if you want to test this feature, you do so in a new save for now, so that you can see how it works and determine what flavor you prefer.

Hi Helaene, "preferences plus" is one of my favorite mods that I can't live without anymore! There is just one thing about it that bothers me - as I like to give my sims countless preferences the menu gets totally cluttered with chat options about this and that - I'm just trying to find some basic friendly interactions and have pages of preference talk. Maybe it would be possible to move all preference related chat options under a new menu point so it is more organised? Thanks for reading :)

I've really debated about how to folder the social interactions over time - I'm open to input from everyone on this!

2 New Tiny Mods & Minor PrefPlus Update

New Tiny Mods

* Autonomy Mod: Browse Art The Browse Art computer interaction will now only be performed autonomously by Sims with one or more of the following traits: Art Lover, Creative, Likes Painting (PrefPlus), Likes Museum (PrefPlus).

* Cosplayers Can Wear Costumes Any Time Sims with the Geek trait or the Likes Costumes preference (PrefPlus) will now be able to change into costumes any time

I also made some minor updates to PreferencesPlus (now v0.9.1) to include the 0.9.0 preferences in lists to learn when using the 'Ask About' interactions, and included base-game ones as options for random assignment.
