New Project
Architecture project – preliminary findings before the first lesson
Even though I haven’t necessarily received my first lesson on architecture and have absolutely no idea what these two artists - who will set my class the task - want in regards to themes and work. However, as one of my reflective targets was to make sure that I was organised in conjunction with work, I thought it best to start producing ideas which I can expand over the weekend.
Firstly I want to start this project with the main aim of exploring different media – so from the onset I will leave my sketch book. Over the course of the next couple of months I have workshops in both lazer cutting and etching which I think will work well with the architectural and structural themes I will probably be exploring. Already I have found some interesting artistic references on Pinterest, where artists apply threads (to form 3D structures and mapping) to paintings on various pieces of cards to create a more abstract piece.

These Artists, in my mind, all integrate nicely with the idea of different shapes and patterns, creating in the process pieces of artwork that resemble a 3D form. With the addition of lots of minute detail (something that I like to use in my artwork) I think I can come up with some interesting and visually pleasing designs whilst also incorporating and developing some aspects/ work that I produced in my other projects.
