Sun!!! "Chocolate" looks so beautiful! I can't wait to read it 😍 I am so happy for you! I am planning to publish something this year too, can I ask you how you make your covers? Are you commissioning someone or do you make them with a specific program? The question of the cover is something where I am really still very clueless right now 😅
I have to pay for my covers, though I do premades to save $$. I got the three covers for Cake, Chocolate, and Churros on sale, all three for less than $100.
I am *terrible* with buying covers for stories I haven’t written yet, so this is dangerous for me, but let me link you to my favorite premade sites:
http://thetbrpile.weebly.com/cover-art-by-christine.html (best prices)
https://theillustratedpage.net/design/ (best one for diverse covers, I own multiple f/f covers from them that I bought because I love them, and that I now need a story for 🙈)
https://www.goonwrite.com/book-covers-01-romance_pre-made.htm (this is where Cake/Chocolate came from)
https://www.rockingbookcovers.com/premade-covers/premade-romance-book-covers/ (I have a cover from here that I LOVE but that has no story, lol)
https://www.blackjazzdesign.com/ (pricy, but stunning, this is where Rum Line’s cover is from)
https://www.kingwoodcreations.com/premade-book-covers/ (stunning covers, the first place I bought from. Is the book I bought this for done? Sort of, is it published, no)
I hope these give you some pretties to look at and some ideas!
I’m finding Instagram a great place to be an indie writer (so far) and weaseled my way into an anthology through contacts there. This whole indie thing is like a giant fandom but it’s so much harder to get anyone to pay attention to your work. (should be like, ao3, lol, I just toss my work out onto “contemporary romance” and hope someone reads it, writes a nice comment, and recs it to their friends)
