Here is a celebration for the Padmini, previously known as the 1200, which had just laid down the foundations for the future icons, the Palio, Weekend and the Palio Adventure. But the heart still longed for the Padmini. Just like the taste of a green chutney stands out in a thali jam packed with assorted delicacies, the Padmini too did stand out. It was simple, cramped, not very comfortable and did not even have an air conditioner in many versions, but a pocket fan put on the dashboard by their owners made life easier. It was special, in a way that is hard to explain even in the 90's. Surely, a product that talks to your heart, and somehow convinces your brain too to like it. Is this what love is?
