I'm Back On My Bullshit
Am I even sorry at this point? You know what, no I'm not. I don't have to be.
If you've decided to follow me you should have known what you're getting into.
Let's Fucking Do This!
On The Subject Of Opposites:
Roman and Remus Croft were having their usual weekend romcom marathon, where they watch terribly cliched romcoms to make fun of them, when Roman suddenly came up with a theory.
The theory? Opposites don't attract, ever. So he tells this idea to Remus, who strongly disagrees. So they do the only logical thing.
They bet on it.
They both have to find their opposites in school and hang out with them for a whole month, to test this theory.
And so the experiment begins!
Roman finds his polar opposite in Logan Berry, captain of the debate team, star of the swim team, honor roll student and obnoxiously posh and pretty prep.
His goal? Do not fall in love with Logan Berry. Shouldn't be too hard considering how much he hates his guts from the start.
After all, for a nerd who has to work thrice as hard just to get straight A's while getting a role in every play the school theater puts on, someone like Logan, who seems to balance all these achievements without breaking a sweat is very easy to loath.
So this will be an easy win, right?
...Right?
Meanwhile, Remus finds his polar opposite in Virgil Merlo, the silent and dangerous troublemaker of the school.
Virgil isn't your typical jock shoving nerds into lockers type bully, but rather the type of menacing bully who has done some actually serious things and no one knows anything about his personal life and he's gotten in big trouble for it and is one more serious mistake away from a school for problematic kids.
And as a shy and quiet loner who keeps to himself because he's too scared of opening his mouth, lest all the bad thoughts slip out and everyone thinks he's crazy, so much so that he sticks to being a techie in the school theater productions, but still manages to freak people out on the rare occasions he does speak, in hushed tones and creepy whispers, and lots of incoherent mumbling to himself when he wants to calm his own nerves, Remus is understandably terrified of Virgil.
But throughout the course of a month he learns not to be scared of him and they even become friends, but he doesn't develop any romantic feelings just yet.
At first he's only slightly bummed, thinking Roman's theory was right and he's gonna have to keep his end of the bet.
But when he sees how Roman is doing, he starts freaking out. Why doesn't he feel that way with Virgil? Is something wrong with him? What does Virgil feel? Is he gonna have to turn him down?
And in the background of the gay disaster twins and their even more gay disaster crushes, there are two students, polar opposites, who meet not in the confineds of an experiment, but by pure luck, or chance or fate, whatever you wanna call it.
Dorian Picani is all about standing up to the broken system and exposing the lies that allow those in power to take advantage of the poor, weak and helpless.
Which, unsurprisingly, gets him labeled as an sjw, a special snowflake, and a slightly outdated one, hippie. For some reason that's the one that seems to stick with everyone.
Meanwhile Patton Waller is the peppy popular school sweetheart, head of the yearbook comity and class president, who everybody loves. And who wouldn't love him? He's nice and kind and friendly to everyone, even jerks who don't deserve it and people who are obviously only pretending to be his friends to get something out of him.
He's not nearly as naive as people think he is, though. He just finds it better to put a smile on his face and be an agreeable and fun person to be around at all times. He'd rather that than be completely alone and left to deal with his thoughts feelings and issues, thanks but no thanks.
He's struggling with depression and trying to keep his grades up all while having a part time job to help his mom. But he's fine, it's fine, everything is fine.
And he doesn't even like most of his so called friends, making him as much of a hypocrite as they are, he supposes, but he'd rather be fake than be all alone again.
When Dorian and Patton meet, they butt heads pretty quickly, but theirs turns out to be the most naturally progressing relationship.
They go from rivals to unlikely friends to even more unbelievable romantic partners, and even they aren't sure how it happened.
One thing is certain, however. Sophomore year is turning out to be one hell of an experience.
Other Details:
Patton's mom's name is Dawn Waller and in case those initials seem familiar it's because that's my usual shtick of making the dragon witch a relative of one of the main characters. I've never done it with Patton before though, I'm excited to see where my brain takes this thread.
Virgil has been in and out of several foster homes and by the end of sophomore year he gets adopted by Thomas because he deserves good things and I love dad Thomas and son Virgil.
This also might end up resulting in step brothers Virgil and dee because I'm a sucker for panders but we'll see.
Creativitwins' parents are Larry and Dot, also Remy might be their sassy little brother but again we'll see.
This all happened because I remembered "nerd!" "prep!" and my brain asked "but what if it was reversed?" and then went overboard and now here we are!
That's all for now, let me know if you wanna see more of this au.
And as always -
Stay Tuned!
